I found the right hair colour for Trichelle (thankyou again @cosmomoore), this one wanted gothic purple which is a stunning saturated glossy purple that doesn’t clash with red tones or blue and reflects bluish and pinkish tones depending on the where the light hits. I do not know why the same sculpt with slightly different paint variation sometimes demands a different colour but you gotta go with your gut! She’s joining the part of my collection that are sort of the core and “will not part with" gals (and ungendered creatures) on her Artsy fashionistas body. She might be joined by Aqua Trichelle as I kind of want to keep one with blue eyeshadow too. They’re clearly not the same screening and I have multiple twins anyway (cali girl nikki, beach fun nikki, dandelion and dahlia all have reroot twins) so I can totally justify it. =p

She’s slightly wonk as most of the Concert Trichelles were (They’re the only ones along with Rocawear vs2 that don’t have the blue eyeshadow) it’s obvious in photos but in person it isn’t bothersome at all, possibly because the side eye and hair colour already give her quite a lot of character. She looks wistful or cheeky depending on which angle you catch her at! I’ve got her hair tied down all tight right now because i’m not risking boiling her head after what happened with OG Trichelle’s decals (which was probably because of hair gel but still not taking chances).

I got Emoji Fun for her body (I had a head ready and all) and fell for that gorgeous wide rounded sculpt and adorable nose. The internet says she’s the “Kim” mold but I can’t tell if that’s official or just one person. Her screening is so washed out both IRL and under flash so I added acrylic paint and dark brown reddish blush. It’s messy up close but it works for me, she comes alive: Eyes become the focal point again. Not sure whether to overpaint the teeth, they’re splashed across the lips in a way that reads as open mouth not toothy smile anyway. Mattel really needs to work on finding a glossy black ink and solid whites - by that, I mean shades of white that aren’t translucent not necessarily #FFFFFF - because even Po Beeps irises showed the skintone underneath and it’s uncanny.

Quick note to anyone repainting this sculpt: be careful to NOT gloss above the whites of the eyes, she has an eyewell with an angled bump where her upper eyeliner and eyelashes go and glossing it will cause all flash photos to make that area reflect as white.
