yeah, they asked me to be there at least 5 minutes early, and it will take me probably around 10 minutes to get from one building to the other (but i don't actually know i've never walked that exact distance). i am never late lmao i refuse to be.

i think it's really cool how positively people are responding to it. i wanted to watch it but wasn't sure if it would have the same resonance for me. i've seen maybe 10 eps of himym.

It's a little clunky, but mostly because I decided not to put any time into bringing in scenes (or voiceovers) from earlier episodes -- I just took stuff that was actually in the two-part finale and trimmed it down with a minimal amount of reshuffling. It's almost frustrating how well it works, though, because it shows that the writers could easily have managed a perfect ending if they hadn't decided to wipe away 7-8 years of character development to get to the endgame they filmed back in 2006.

As you might guess, my edit contains the actual moment of Ted meeting the mother, which is really sweet. I don't know how well it would land without knowing the main characters and all the backstory, though.

vimeo might be a good place to upload your fanedit. it would prob get taken down off youtube due to copyright violation pretty quickly, but i've heard vimeo is a little more flexible about stuff like that. you could also put it up for download on a site like megaupload or something

I wasn’t even gonna try YouTube, because even though I firmly believe this is an acceptable transformative use of the copyrighted material, I’ve already seen a five-minute edit of the finale get taken down from YouTube this week. There’s no way my twenty-minute episode would be allowed to stay.

Oh! I thought that guy looked familiar and even meant to look up who he was... Definitely didn't place him without the beard. (Jenna Coleman I recognized straight-away, but I've also known she was in this for quite a while.)
