Practicing intense expressions with Ymir Fritz but with a twist👀✨️ I thought it would be fun to reimagine her with the Founding Titan eye glow, especially considering she’s the FOUNDER of the Founding Titan yet never got an appearance with glowing eyes the way Uri or Frieda or other Shifters (even if not Founding) did. So I decided to draw her with it, in the scene her eyes finally come into view and she acts on her own will for the first time🥲

I feel Ymir Fritz is a brilliant metaphor for experiencing delayed emotions. Some people might think, why on earth did she “love” her abuser King Fritz as Eren puts it, and why did it have to be specifically Mikasa from as long as 2000 years later when she could have learned and grown from watching other charas like 104th Ymir (Jaw Titan) or Historia? Well, I believe that some wounds need very specific elements to heal, in this case a mirror image that specifically touched Ymir Fritz’s pain of being used by someone she loved and then not having freedom for centuries. While I believe there might have been the influence of the Devil of All Earth on her “loving” King Fritz, I feel this part also makes sense as a metaphor for being trapped by what you pursue and unable to escape, no matter how toxic it becomes.

I do think Ymir Fritz canonically never being shown with the Founding Titan eye glow is bc she had little to no agency, as is portrayed by her eyes being concealed the whole time, but I thought it would be fun to give her this trait since AoT eyes (esp. WIT style) are so beautiful.🤭 I hope you enjoyed my interpretation! What’s your opinion on the ending of AoT? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below😊
