He awoke curled loosely on his side, his body feeling far too heavy to budge. There was a sheen of half-frozen sweat plastering his clothes to his body. His coat had, thankfully, been removed, along with all but the undermost shirt. His temperature still spiked unbearably. He felt utterly uncomfortable and miserable, but any attempt to shift or rise made him dizzy. He fought desperately to open his eyes. The world was a blur, but by the yellow-tinted light he seemed to be indoors. His arms were still that heinous icy blue. Had he failed to change back? ”Mmmh?” he inquired wordlessly as a blurry figure moved through his field of vision.

She became clearer as she leaned close. He tried to push himself up to a sitting position, not one to accept being seen as helpless, but a wave of nausea hit him like a truck and he collapsed, panting. Her name, her name… his mind churned sluggishly, which frightened him, since what was he without his resourceful lightning-quick thoughts? A cool cloth was pressed to his forehead and he could have cried with the relief. He closed his eyes, slowly pulling his breathing under control. When he opened them again, he seemed more collected. “Frostbite?”
