When did emily start #blazinit? What's her favourite word? How many languages does she speak?

I like to think Jessamine asked her to wait until she was older to try, and Emily remembered that when she grew up. After all, she almost certainly saw the Empress with her hookah. It’s implied that her mother smoked with frequency. Still, with as much strain as she’s under, it wasn’t too old. Probably around fifteen? Also please mom it’s not weed. Yet. 

She loves the sound of the word eloquence. Something about the syllables, their pattern and the feel of the stress in the end just feels good. It also implies something she doesn’t always believe about herself- a power over words, a strength over conveying thoughts to others, that she cannot always bring to the fore. But she prides herself in the attempt.

Several. The Empire must have some common tongue, along with whatever else is spoken in Gristol. Likely she also knows some Serkonan and at least marginal greetings in any other prominent languages with whom the Empire holds sway. But masterfully, she knows probably about 3 or 4.

When do you think Corvo fell in love for the first time? What's his favourite food? When did he tell Emily he was her dad?

This is gonna get long. 

When do you think Corvo fell in love for the first time?  

I honestly think he might have had a fleeting crush here and there before meeting Jessamine, but really that was all it was—-a FLEETING crush, something that would never last. Despite being a romantic, he didn’t find true love until he met Jessamine. Before that, he might have had the odd ‘fling’ here and there, but he would have been very focused on his duties, hobbies and other oddities here and there like practicing with the sword. 

What’s his favourite food?

That’s an easy one. After the events of Dishonored, he’s grown really accustomed to rat skewers, and would not admit this. Before Dishonored’s events take place, he had to have been fond of foods native to Serkonos. After all, that was his birthplace and eating things such as Serkonan grapes and Serkonan blood sausage would always bring him pleasant memories. He probably even sits out eating Serkonan grapes when he’s keeping guard for Jessamine and makes sure she doesn’t see them so that she won’t come and steal any. 

When did he tell Emily he was her dad?

I’ve been actually wanting to touch on this for a while so THANK YOU! I feel like there could definitely be two sides to this. I love the idea of Emily knowing through the events of Dishonored, but having been born out of wedlock, she is forced to call him ‘Corvo’ at all times until after order is restored and Corvo’s just like, ‘just call me daddy.’ But of course the idea that makes more sense is that he probably told Emily not too long after the events of Dishonored. Of course, he waited for her to get over having to become an Empress at such an early age, and having to rebuild a nation practically, but as soon as things settled down, he definitely sat her down and told her. It also probably went something along the lines of the heart telling him, “are you not going to tell her who her FATHER is?” He would have taken it VERY slowly when he told her this as well. I could see it having happened where he sat down with her before bed after tucking her in and just gently told her, “your mother and I were not going to tell you this, but circumstances have changed, and you need to know that I am your father.” He would apologize for having kept it hidden for so long, but I feel like he would easily be able to reason with Emily as to WHY. Anyways, that night, needless to say, they spent the night together for the first time as ‘father and daughter.’

Though she’d never physically been there, Jessamine’s scent still blows through certain parts of the Void; when the banners at Dunwall Tower are caught high in the breeze. She smelled of orchids. He doesn’t particularly know why, but it soothes him.

                    Jessamine. His sweet, sweet Jessamine. A hazel glance cast over his shoulder, possessing nothing less than love. Thin lips spread into a smile, & he reached up to tie back his tangled hair. She was still asleep, & he did not intend on waking her. Instead, he would go to sit on the balcony,& wait. Her loyal bodyguard would never envy her line of work. It seemed exhausting. Before he made his way out of her bedchamber, wrapped in his night robe, he reached out, ghosting the gentlest of touches across her cheek with the worn tips of his fingers, & then, kissed it. / @empresslain

Though few and far between, it was not uncommon for a lost soul to stumble uncertain steps into the Void. Not long after their arrival was it apparent whether they’d spend an eternity wandering in a null sea or fading into nothing but a memory, still and forever silent. The essence that found it’s way into The Outsider’s domain, however, was anything but common; a RARITY, for a more precise descriptor. 

“Jessamine Kaldwin, the empress of the Isles --” He’d pause briefly, letting an arm drop from it’s folded position into a leisurely shrug. “ -- former empress, I should say. Seems as though your royal protector wasn’t cut out for his job. An individual of your status is not a frequent visitor of mine, but regardless; welcome to your afterlife.”
