What makes a Philosopher When I showed my dad the book, Empty Ideas: A Critique of Analytic Philosophy, my dad picked it up to read right away because, “I like analytic philosophy.” Whatever branch of knowledge a philosopher might study, from analytic to continental, from Eastern to Western, purposefully seeking arguments against your views is one sure indicator of a philosophical temperament.
