Watching the episode with Leo and ohhhhhhh Hawkeye hated his ass
I fell off of watching M*A*S*H a couple years ago about halfway through S6. Sometime after the Hawkeye and Margaret one-night stand. I think I just wasn't a fan of the serious, near soap-opera drama tone the show was taking on. I always loved the way the anti-war message was starkly interspersed with the comedy of what was fundamentally a sitcom, and how you might have one episode of hijinks followed by another episode that showed just how serious the situation was, but S6 seemed to be ALL drama. So now it's been very refreshing to go back to the first few seasons and remember that it used to be. actually a fun show. with a deep message that was focused on surprisingly often. I think S6 is also where the laugh track was done away with completely, which is usually welcome but i think threw me off because no longer did this show feel anything like a sitcom. Hawkeye's jokes were ever more clearly the jokes of a man trying to stay sane in a desperate situation. Which, to be fair, they always were, but around S6 they were no longer jokes told to a knowing audience but an inside joke between the characters--we have to either laugh or cry. I think maybe the sudden departure of Henry Blake at the end of S3 (?) hit this off. I love M*A*S*H and I would love to finish it one day, but for a while I couldn't handle the darkness/solemnity from a show I had ingrained in my mind as a sitcom. And maybe I never will?

uh i dont watch mash but my bf does and hes trying to find a way to watch aftermash and all the other stuff after the original show or whatever, he cant seem to find a way to watch them though + hes not tht active online to ask so m asking for him can anyone help pleaseeee
