I think it depends very heavily on the situation.

Hiyori is a person with incredible stamina for such a small body. She has always had reiatsu in spades and very much like Ichigo, she can keep fighting for a very long time. Peace consumes less of a person’s energy, unlike the rage, anger and vitriol that Hiyori spews out on a consistent basis. Before someone even has a chance to hurt her, she’s ready to unleash verbal cyanide, build walls around her like she’s protecting some national treasure – when in reality, it is just to protect her own vulnerabilities. Keeping people out is exhausting. And yet, she continues to do it. She will never allow anyone in, barring those that have scaled those high walls through hundreds of years of knowing her.

However, despite her impulsive nature, she can actually demonstrate control and keep her cool. Whether it is during peaceful times or in battle.

There are very few fights shown with Hiyori in them, but she managed to hold off a hollowfied Kensei and Mashiro off without the use of her zanpakuto. This demonstrates a restraint that she possesses but pretends not to have. Hiyori has her reasons to pretend this way, but it shows a keen intellect in battle to survive this long. To ensure that she could avoid both Mashiro and Kensei until she figured out a way to subdue them. She even warned Shinji and the others to go away- this was perhaps false bravado on her part. She knew she was losing and wouldn’t hold out for very long, but she was still pushing herself beyond her limits. Because she was afraid of hurting Kensei and Mashiro. In addition, she may have used her hollow mask to draw out Ichigo’s bankai- - but her zanpakuto wasn’t in its shikai state as she fought him. Hiyori possesses restraint and can rest when she does not see the people she loves as a threat.

However, Hiyori can also be foolish when triggered. All that strong will, that natural intellect and power flies right out the window when she sees red. And Aizen being Aizen who had known her as a lieutenant - knew all of her triggers and dismantled her without lifting a finger.
