I have said before that the emperor really deserved a requiescat en pace death scene. His death in combat was SO impersonal considering the extremely charged relationship Tav had with him (whether it was bad, good, or romantic).
He and the player deserved that requiescat en pace moment for closure, for the satisfaction of vengeance if you hated him, for the knife in your own heart if you liked him and betrayed him, and perhaps a musical number.... FOR WHAT IS A MAN, WHAT HAS HE GOT? / IF NOT HIMSELF, THEN HE HAS NAUGHT / TO SAY THE THINGS HE TRULY FEELS / AND NOT THE WOOOOOOORDS OF ONE WHO KNEEEEELS / THE RECORD SHOWS I TOOK THE BLOWS / AND DID IT MYYYYYYYYY WAYYYYYYYYYYYYY
