I hate. Social cues.
It turns out that the secret for moving through any emotion is just to cry for half an hour
*Mrs. Lovette voice* Ah, sir, times is hard. Times is hard.
Do you know what's beyond me?? Why it's not standard practice for parents to take gifted children in for ADHD and Autism screenings.
Like... Congratulations, the school has determined that your child is so advanced, they need to be kept in a separate classroom to be taught at a faster pace than all the other children. That in and of itself is evidence that your child's brain is developing atyipically. AKA a neurodevelopmental disorder. Sure, it's in a way you think is "good," but it's still objectively DIFFERENT. Which should clue you in that there may be other things happening differently, as well. Best to take them in just in case, right?
Obviously these screenings aren't accessible to every one of those families, either. But still I think in a perfect world that ought to be standard practice.
I am INSANE and will be starting a huge sewing project halfway through my quarter. No I do not like sewing
