What Overseas Buyers Can Learn from a PCBA Factory Visit
A PCBA factory visit becomes more useful when it explains how a project moves between people and processes—not only which machines are installed.
On July 24, 2026, two visitors from Saudi Arabia visited Shenzhen STHL Technology Co., Ltd. to review how engineering, sourcing, production, inspection, testing, and final assembly teams support a PCBA and EMS manufacturing project.
The visit began with an engineering and sourcing discussion before continuing through material staging, SMT production, first article inspection, AOI, THT/DIP assembly, ICT, FCT, outgoing quality control, and final assembly.
One of the key topics was PCB-level MES traceability.
A unique QR code is laser marked on the PCB and used as a board-level identifier within the manufacturing execution system. It connects the board with applicable production and inspection records generated as it moves through the manufacturing process.
The QR code does not replace inspection. Its role is to keep process information associated with the PCB and provide a clearer basis for later project follow-up.
For overseas OEM and ODM teams, this kind of visibility helps clarify where engineering questions are reviewed, how material information reaches production, and how testing requirements continue into shipment preparation.
