capri and @/ecto-hazard’s spencer should hang out. blue guys need to stick together and all that
this is from what must be a week ago, now; there would have been way more than this--more spencer, less stepping on au canon--but due to computer issues i haven't been able to do more than open this file. mashing my ocs into things i still feel rather shy about, but it's something i like to do anyway.
i thought about what all my addisons would be doing in dead air au and i think they'd all be more successful, in part due to their connections (senior addisons, who'd just also be normal people in this au and any human au). capri in particular is a model and the heir to a small but incredibly successful company. i'm not sure how much spencer and capri would get along--at first blush i don't think they'd have much apparently in common, but they share a couple fundamental traits as far as i'm aware.
the biggest point of contention between the two (or potentially, what might make them get along,) is that spencer seems to be a very nervous and flighty person who's midway through learning confidence; while capri has always been mostly uninhibited socially to the point of near-naivete. whenever capri feels nervous or ashamed of something, it tries to shove those feelings down deep and act confident (which comes out as though they were being frivolous or ignorant in situations). spencer seems almost noelle-esque in how fear and apprehension controls them but also compels them...? they want to avoid the things that make them scared but have a tendency to gravitate towards them anyway.
in short, capri wants to control a situation, while spencer wants situations to be controlled--and both think they're the other? spencer gets abducted by tenna trying to understand stan better; capri in a similar situation would unplug and remove the TV without ever turning it on because it thinks it'd help (but would likely ask friends for validation first). probably. i like comparing and contrasting characters to better discover them.
also, cliq (clanci) is here. it feels so intrusive/self-indulgent but i thought it'd be funny if he were spencer's boss.
don't mind the unfinished sketch. the guy actually likes selling shoes
all my addisons are also in their 30s. they're a decade older than spencer
anywho... spencer and dead air au belongs to @ecto-hazard
not a submission but i’d like to talk about how cool of an idea this is, i love seeing all these fandoms alike come together like this and make designs it’s so sweet
thank you….. im glad ppl actually like this happy little accident of mine that started off as a complete shitpost
can we see your unnamed pipis baby. the children yearn for 🔵
so funny thing: my pipis baby is actually what got me into the rabbit hole of drawing deltarune fanart this year. there's this talk of tenna being a gateway into being a spamton fan, and being a battat fan, and those are partially true. but no one talks about the spamtenna fanchild to addison fan pipeline, probably because it does not exist aside from maybe me
She's a lawyer. She came out of the pipis with a law degree.
her name is Unnamed Pipis #413627, because Tenna was prompted to name her when she hatched and he accidentally declined the prompt out of shock. so the prompt gave her a placeholder name, and that's just what she's coded with until they figure out how to rename her. (it's a convoluted process that requires certain conditions to be met, it's meant to be a bit video game-y in that obtuse earlier-generation pokemon way)
the original plan with this blog was to come in swinging: share my pipis baby, and additionally start posting the comic i immediately planned out involving spamton and tenna's divorce proceedings. seeing the Pipis MAP was possibly the most alluring thing in the world because i started drawing deltarune again because of spamtenna crack taken seriously.
the reason i didn't commit is because i accidentally started obsessing over addisons, and i wanted to polish up what drawings of the comic i already had. i may be walking this back simply because i think the comic is funny... and i could always do the Webcomic Artist's Cusp Spiral of Death Trick of going back to redraw the earliest pages too. i'll likely share what i have already right after i post this. (it'll also be my 100th post on this blog, wow!)
since it contains information on Unnamed Pipis, here's a summary and some bullet points i wrote on the comic idea:
Deltarune: Custody Battle
(that's the name of the comic)
"possibly one of the dumbest fanfic ideas I've had yet."
Kris and Susie decide to swing by Castle Town to ease their minds, but get more than what they bargained for when Tenna's prized pipis suddenly hatches into a beautiful baby divorce litigation attorney. As Tenna and pipis maker Spamton never legally determined the terms of their separation, they now must duke out custody in order to gain their combination daughter and attorney's favor.
comic starts with Kris checking the mail for their mom and mostly seeing junk mail. some of it is college advertisements, but one in particular is a DNA test thing that uses human families in the advertising, which upsets Kris. however something causes them to cram the mail into their pockets hastily (circumstance, not the SOUL), forgetting to toss them out.
the spamtenna daughter has access to little menus that show off her parentage, because she in part is formed from that pet raising game Noelle had. Spamton and Tenna are very much her parents.
she also exists partially because of (spoiler), and partially because Kris was the one who paired up the pets corresponding to Tenna and Spamton in the game (sorta). As kids Noelle was trying to quarantine the Spamton counterpart because it was glitchy, and Kris tried to breed it in front of her to mess with her. (this does conflict somewhat with known Noelle Cat Petterz lore but it's a funny joke to me.)
the daughter goes around Castle Town, mostly following Tenna before going on her own. She impresses the other Addisons (who end up getting invested in the custody battle despite themselves, really wanting to take the talented young addison under their wing), and befriends Swatch and Lancer.
metaphors for not quite belonging despite on-the-face welcoming. Kris and the daughter have a lot in common, much to Kris's discontent.
Tenna wants his daughter to be in showbiz and carry on TV traditions. Spamton wants her to be herself, but also can't help but try and bring her into his deal schemes. Verbally, the two seem to express the opposite of their desires. (Tenna encouraging her to be herself; Spamton constantly talking to her about the art of the deal.) Their daughter is actually far more interested in assisting Lightners in finding & pursuing greater purpose. She's incredibly self-assured and knows what she wants already
it's an ongoing gag that she looks and sounds grown--moreso than other addisons, and she's also usually taller than all of them--but once it's revealed that she's a child and also barely a day old, characters completely change how they treat her but they also don't know what to do with that information
Queen notes that technically the daughter is royalty due to her father being Tenna (Lord of Screens and all) so she also offers to look after her. The daughter is quickly disinterested in this. I imagine this eventually becomes an Auntie Queen scenario as the daughter and Lancer become quick friends
i also really got into her battle style at some point: she has magic bolstered by contracts, though is only (instinctively) incensed to fight when a contract she's using/supervising is broken. otherwise, she is incredibly docile and refuses to fight. (said contract breaks give her such a rush of emotion and adrenaline that it tends to counteract her nature completely, she's somewhat ashamed by it.)
clauses in her contracts give her exponential power boosts. she also employs making contracts (kind of like Deals/Bets) in battles proper, giving her opponents clauses to follow in exchange for their own boosts. she could learn a mighty deal from Rouxls, but she also negates/counteracts his magic. (and i imagine vice versa: it can get ridiculous fast. imagine an uno game where both players keep playing the reverse card on one another.)
she can also shapeshift for battle. in general she's a very talented shapeshifter. the conditions of breaking any contract of hers makes that already exceptional ability skyrocket.
