i need to post these because i do not think they will ever get finished in a reasonable timeframe. and they are, very slowly but eventually, getting outdated. (this was first made 22 september and last edited... 12 october?!)
that said, i still reference this frequently when drawing my addisons, so: here are references of my addisons! until i decide i need a new reference. some may notice that i go back and forth on how light cliq's pink is.

for a more recent drawing of it, the defernull version of it is the exact same fit except for changed, monochromatic colors and pinstriping. (df!orange has their hair slicked back and cleaned up a lot more.)
capri and @/ecto-hazard’s spencer should hang out. blue guys need to stick together and all that
this is from what must be a week ago, now; there would have been way more than this--more spencer, less stepping on au canon--but due to computer issues i haven't been able to do more than open this file. mashing my ocs into things i still feel rather shy about, but it's something i like to do anyway.
i thought about what all my addisons would be doing in dead air au and i think they'd all be more successful, in part due to their connections (senior addisons, who'd just also be normal people in this au and any human au). capri in particular is a model and the heir to a small but incredibly successful company. i'm not sure how much spencer and capri would get along--at first blush i don't think they'd have much apparently in common, but they share a couple fundamental traits as far as i'm aware.
the biggest point of contention between the two (or potentially, what might make them get along,) is that spencer seems to be a very nervous and flighty person who's midway through learning confidence; while capri has always been mostly uninhibited socially to the point of near-naivete. whenever capri feels nervous or ashamed of something, it tries to shove those feelings down deep and act confident (which comes out as though they were being frivolous or ignorant in situations). spencer seems almost noelle-esque in how fear and apprehension controls them but also compels them...? they want to avoid the things that make them scared but have a tendency to gravitate towards them anyway.
in short, capri wants to control a situation, while spencer wants situations to be controlled--and both think they're the other? spencer gets abducted by tenna trying to understand stan better; capri in a similar situation would unplug and remove the TV without ever turning it on because it thinks it'd help (but would likely ask friends for validation first). probably. i like comparing and contrasting characters to better discover them.
also, cliq (clanci) is here. it feels so intrusive/self-indulgent but i thought it'd be funny if he were spencer's boss.

all my addisons are also in their 30s. they're a decade older than spencer
anywho... spencer and dead air au belongs to @ecto-hazard
this was an interesting composition that i hit the ground running with. many parts i could've tightened or polished up, but i wished to have it complete over perfect. the initial draft had a couple more darkners in here: a maus on the railing with the addisons on the top right; a plugboy with a bandanna entering the "groce" (name of the store); a werewire in the far background visually between cyber-dashers, checking for rain; and cliq was actually walking side by side with the orange addison.
the first three i forgot to incorporate, and by the time i was done i decided i didn't want to force squeezing them in. for cliq, at some point i decided it'd be funny if he was actually meeting ceres and company at their intended location. so he's suspiciously absent here, but hasn't been forgotten.
that overhead bridge in the addison alley is actually my favorite detail in cyber city. first playing through that part, seeing the little cars walk by on a tiny path and getting to walk under them... it filled me with... uh... what's the word again? but i really latched onto the idea of filling out that part a bit more. i like the idea of cyber city having layers upon layers upon layers... above the cyber dashers you can see me trying to incorporate yet another ambiguous bridge in the distance. i'm aware that there's no foliage in the cyber city we go through, but i'd like to imagine that any sort of park or "green" space is simply slightly out of frame.

i had the worst time trying to just finish the orange side. it was like my computer didn't want it to exist at all. it crashed 30+ times while i worked on it, then the file corrupted. (i had backups of this file at that point though.) why. why. why. wh
okay so now they're paying rent in my brain. there's actually a handful of headcanons sewn into here... some are specifically for my orange addison fic/au. i wonder if anyone will notice though (no capri is not blind.)
i didn't mean to give them all names that started with a C it just happened naturally. orange addison has the opportunity to do the funniest possible thing
(intended references here to budget bigshot, factory settings au, and that one common? headcanon to where the blue addison is haunted by the garbage noise phone call. also the orange addison is there)

okay so it turns out there were at least 6 addisons, not 8. but i still like there being two pairs of each color because there's ample wiggle room for headcanons in that direction, rather than just the 4. that said idk how much i'll do with my own hc designs here but it was a fun design exercise nonetheless
the older/senior addisons are NOT named after their colors, i wrote those down before i colored them in so i wouldn't lose track
are these guys family members? a company? friends? lovers? enemies? some kind of flock? the answer is, they're addisons! all they do is advertise!
...but yeah these 8 are some ambiguous collective at the very least, and familiar with one another. the junior addisons are very much adults here, it's just that the senior addisons are older + have seniority. they're their industry mentors and generally try to look after and over them, but have been mostly letting them fly free.
the senior addisons are far more established. comfortable i think is the best word to describe them: their advertising style is calmer, more elegant, and they don't feel as though they always need bright colors to make a statement. (they've also naturally lightened up with age--not that being lighter is specifically a trait associated with aging. coughs at you-know-who.) junior addisons are very comparable to how you see the in-game addisons behave lol
i don't have... too many ideas on individual facts on all of these guys.
i don't have gender/pronoun headcanons on these guys in general, EXCEPT that junior pink addison uses he/him.
if anything the senior addisons didn't/don't have much of a concept of gender outside of the newfangled "targeted ads" trend, senior pink is kinda masc and senior orange is kinda fem but even then they're all gender neutral tbh
though they weren't the closest, i'd like to think junior pink & spamton were like brothers. all the junior addisons miss spamton a lot but they are not going to talk about that
i'm torn on where i want spamton to stand here; i like the idea of him being the "oldest" junior addison, or the "youngest" senior addison. either way he's older than the juniors but younger than the seniors
senior pink is the best magician. senior orange is the best socializer. (and probably loves drinks/is kind of an alcoholic...) senior yellow probably focuses on apps and that's why s!yellow wasn't around much c2. senior blue was visually inspired off of sans so make of that what you will
the color pairs look similar because of the same reason gems of the same species in steven universe look the same. they're just formed with similar templates. all that said i love the idea of s!pink and j!yellow being definitively related
s!pink went out there as the sole seller in weird route on purpose i think. do not ask what the reasons were,
