beautiful. the word echoed in luna’s mind as she stared in utter DELIGHT at the scene before her. she had seen festivals before , of course , but they had been from a million miles , a thousand LIGHT YEARS away. this , this wonderful evening where she was free to wander amongst the stalls & the crowds of people - magic was made of this , she was sure.
she had expected herself to be TORN upon coming close to the fair , indecisive about where she should go first , & who could blame her ? the experience was new , & BEYOND fascinating , but luna’s heart wasted no time in setting itself upon the mortals that surrounded her. where there were people , the moon could be found , weaving between all those assembled with a smile on her face , catching snatches of varying conversations & holding them close to her heart. in the growing twilight , surrounded by warmth & HAPPINESS , she couldn’t help it ; her heart glowed , & so too did the moon. what else was she made for ? the silver aura followed her wherever she went , fingertips lightly brushing over the wood of the stalls , the prizes offered , the gifts & trinkets on display ; but this was entirely absent-minded , & it wasn’t long before she came to a stop in front of the largest stall at the fair , ILLUMINATION in the growing gloom.
it FASCINATED her , this new light they had. one hand reached out to tangle amongst the fairy lights which dangled from the roof of the stall , & the slight heat against her palm was a comfort. it reminded her of the burning of the STARS. she missed them - heavens above , she missed them so , her once constant companions - but there was SO MUCH in the world which reminded her of them ; she was never truly without them , so long as she remembered them.
❛ isn’t it wonderful ? ❜ she might have been talking to herself , words a quiet exhalation more than anything , but still , her head turned to the person closest to her , inviting them into her moment of joy. ❛ like bottling the stars. ❜
