I love thinking about how Psychonauts levels compare to other types of game levels. In some games you've just got like... Ice, fire, desert, sewer, maybe a haunted house if you're lucky. Psychonauts has stuff like the wedding cake section of the alcoholic depression level. This level also has sailing, a swamp, a garden, and a drowned version of the hub world in it, among other things, but it's all tied together with plants, alcohol, and the memories of people he's lost. The guy the level is about is depicted as a potato sometimes. He's sad because he thinks his husband was murdered by one of their friends 20 years ago. You only find him because you want him to move some vines out of the way.
