"i haven't moved in, like, fourteen hours. i haven't seen shit but this." they gesture to their computer screen, looking at nudge with dorito crumbs all around their mouth and their headphones half off. "did i fuck up?"

donnelly and killian have attended this comedy show because one of the latter's friends asked (read: begged) killian for his famous youtuber brother to show up, maybe shout him out. and donnelly didn't really have anything else going on (never mind he's dying, every second could be his last!!). he's too much of a bright light to think like that, grasping every moment with both hands and trudging forward with all the energy he can muster (when he has it).
he's taken by a girl somewhere in the middle of the set. her self-deprecating jokes make him laugh, and there's something genuine and real about her, so much so that he makes sure to approach her when the set's finished. his brother's talking to his friend, anyway, so it's not rude to split off.
he approaches her with an easy smile, leaning on the bar beside her. he's a little pale, definitely has dark circles under his eyes (a permanent fixture), but the light that burns within him shines through, even now. "hey... i really liked your set." the irishman says, "do you have socials i could follow?"

he's suffering today, stuck in bed with a massive headache and dizzy spells that make it difficult to traverse even the short distance from his bedroom to the bathroom. killian is hovering. donnelly is wallowing. then ruby texts, and his face lights up like the sky on the forth of july.
he hugs his pillow to his chest and draws the phone in closer.

he's sprawled out on the couch without purpose or direction when the text comes through, some comfort movie playing on the television though he's not really paying attention to it. and he's not high enough, that's for certain.
still, he gets a little lopsided smile on his lips when he sees who's messaging him -- always gets a little excited to hear from ozzy, and what does that say about him?

he's kidding, he'd brew the tea and pour it for ozzy if the guy asked, and acts of service are usually begrudgingly done. besides, he's already sitting up, slipping his feet into his boots.
