333 million children globally survive on less than US$2.15 a day as new analysis reveals three lost years due to COVID-19

Global Trends in Child Monetary Poverty According to International Poverty Lines – which for the first time looks at trends in extreme child poverty – finds that while the number of children living on less than US$2.15 a day decreased from 383 million to 333 million (or 13 per cent) between 2013 and 2022, the economic impact of COVID-19 led to three lost years of progress, or 30 million fewer children than projected in the absence of COVID-19-related disruptions.

Over the weekend I have worked alongside @tapabollington, @bollylogs and other members of our local community to raise funds for us to provide meals for school age children this half-term. Today the sun is shining and the fabulous forestreet flea is on 🙌🌎 ☀️ @zeroexeter are also selling lots of hardback books and fresh vegan cakes for a donation only basis today, with 100% of the donation going towards the children at @arrozconlechedc in Sante Fe Colombia. We know this organisation personally and they provide a safe space solely run by incredible volunteers who work all week at their day jobs and then volunteer every single weekend for non religious nor government associated charity helping hundreds of vulnerable children, single homeless mothers and babies surviving poverty & crimes I can’t even begin to describe. These children are the same age as my own. This month they need to raise £155.55 to pay the rent. We are going to raise this hopefully together, even a £1 donation makes an incredible difference to hundreds of lives .
