Got any prompts for a couple (gender neutral please) finding and adopting a lost child?

“Where did you find her?” The other person whispered. She snuggled closer into her savior’s arms, pretending that she was still asleep.
“She was just sitting on the streets.” She was pulled closer into their warm embrace.

They traced the lines of the child’s sleeping face, barely brushing their fingertip on his little cheek.
“We can’t let those monsters take him again.” Their partner snarled, their fists clenched tight at their sides.
“I know.”

“What’s your name?” They tilted their head, trying to peer beyond the child’s overgrown bangs.
The kid shook their head.
“Y-you don’t know? Or do you not want to say?”
