The Weight of It
Kimiko Shiryo and her Shinokazi counterpart wake up in the same dorm room. This, however, is the first time they will ever have to be awoken. Their bodies...are translucent, if focused on. They feel weightless. The reality they have woken to is one of life after death.
They are spirits, just like the others waking up in their respective dorm rooms inside the dusty and abandoned school. Hikari, Leo, Alex, Bunko, Airi, Tsuchie, Mae, Keiko, Nobuhiko, and Faye, all re-appearing as spiritual version of their formal selves. Perhaps that’s how they may perceive each other...perhaps to the living, they seem much more like the orb-form that Starch appears as.
Regardless, a rational mind was not confirmed to every spirit who died. Those who couldn’t stand the loneliness of the Costco from earlier seem to wander the halls blankly, without will or feeling.
The two Kimikos, Hikari, Alex, and Leo appear to be the only spirits that make it out of the school.
And as they leave the school, they see it.
The bright lights of the refurbished city beyond.
It has been one year since the events at the Yamiki.
What happened?
