Quinn Sun-Fitzgerald is a New York native and the daughter of fitness influencer Alice Sun and investment banker Bill Fitzgerald, the latter of which was one of the smaller targets of the Horsemen during the events of the first movie. Quinn has fostered an interest in them ever since seeing their final show in New York, and starts teaching herself close-up magic and illusionism. she has an insatiable thirst for knowledge, and magic is just an extension of that, really. she picks up the nickname Xiaotu (chinese; little rabbit) from an old boyfriend and decides to use it as the moniker for her alter-ego.
approximately eight months after he died, Jack Wilder runs headfirst into Quinn while trying to secretly view an underground show in Brooklyn – Quinn's underground show. Quinn promises to keep his secret if he promises to teach her some of his tricks, and Jack takes the deal immediately. Jack, who technically isn't allowed outside of the Horsemen hideout on the basis of being legally dead, takes to sneaking out in order to hang out with Quinn, and they become besties quickly. Jack doesn't tell her the secrets of The Eye – in spite of her repeated asking – but he does come close a few times. he trusts Quinn, more than he thinks he probably should, but she trusts him right back.
when the Horsemen find themselves inexplicably in Macau, Jack's first logical phone call is to Quinn. she takes the first flight out of New York and meets them at iong's magic shop, where she's already made fast friends with the owners Li and Bu Bu – much to Daniel's annoyance. he insists that she isn't involved and doesn't know shit but then Jack has to confess and be like ... um she's my friend actually. which Daniel, naturally, blows up at.
Quinn spends most of the events of the second movie bonding with Li and Bu Bu and helps to set up the final show in London, as well as learning as much as she can about The Eye and their history of magic. when they all come together at The Eye's headquarters in Greenwich, the Horsemen decide they must head back to New York, but Quinn opts to stay in London and study.
by the time the third movie rolls around, Quinn is back in New York, but she's completely lost contact with Jack. the Horsemen headquarters have moved, Jack's phone number is disconnected, and she can't even get his attention with some elaborate magic shows.
she does, however, capture the attention of three amateur illusionists by the name of Charlie, June, and Bosco.
(all information from here on out is subject to change by virtue of the movie not being out yet, but oh well.)
Quinn isn't all that interested in the new kids, or Daniel resurfacing, or even the call from The Eye – all she wants is to find Jack! tragically, she probably needs Daniel to make that happen, and Daniel – even if he won't admit it – needs her just as much. so, together, they locate the new kids, and recruit them for their mission. the kids, naturally, are interested in Quinn as this sort of side character in the legend that is the Horsemen, and Quinn truly could not hate it more.
she takes especially unkindly to Bosco, the supposed leader of the three, who seems to idolise Daniel and is equally as full of himself as Daniel is. naturally, they fall in love.
