The cricket looks left, and then right, and then finally points at himself, though he's uncertain if the gesture is even visible given he's tucked rather far back into the shadows. For that reason, he'd assumed that he'd gone entirely unnoticed; that the man had just been talking to himself that whole time - as such, he hadn't really been paying any of his words much mind.

"Uh. Me?" Jiminy awkwardly shifts in place. He doesn't often have conversations with unfamiliar humans - at least, ones that they've initiated. All in all, he's not in the best spot to remind the fella of what point he might have been trying to make. "I'm - gosh, I'm sorry, I wasn't - didn't think you were talkin' to me. I, uh, didn't quite catch any of that..."

You don’t rush the future and it was never set in stone. He told her not to worry. Visions were never easy to decipher but it never left her mind. It started as a tiny cloud and soon it had flooded.

You have a cloud. You’re thundering. Pepa, there’s lighting. There’s a storm, Pepa. Pepa, what are you doing? Take control, Pepa.

It was impossible to take control. It was on her mind and consuming her. Bruno saw dark clouds and rain to match her tears. It was all he had seen.

She hadn’t meant it. This gift was a terrible curse.

“Brunito,” She spoke in a strained voice while cradling his head. Her lightning had never done that before. She had hurricanes but they had always managed to avoid people. He was in the way. He had tried to comfort her. He was still warm. “Brunito...”

There was a roar overhead as the clouds grew darker. Rain pelted against Pepa’s skin and caused her braid to cling against her face. It wasn’t going to fix what she had done... 

“Julieta? Julieta? He’s hurt... I hurt him. I-”

Teeth click together unpleasantly, forcing them to set their jaw tighter as they stare up at the man in front of them, who isn’t much taller then themselves. Yet he is a stranger, a human- or as Father would call them ‘a fleshy, weakling insect that served no purpose then to go extinct.’ 

Patches thought that was perhaps a bit too harsh, especially when the green eyed individual in question seems to be looking at them with the same hesitation they hold on their own mottled face. 

“I’ve...heard about you.” They finally managed to rasp out, tracing the tip of their index finger delicately over the back of their own hand, covered in a skin that wasn’t really them, a trickery of a mortal disguise to hide from the others, from Father. 

Father will be so mad. They’ve broken so many rules already.

“They say you can see things that haven’t happened yet.” At least, that’s what they’ve heard from the murmurs of the others that live among this thriving, exuberant habitat of humans. 

“Is that true?”

“Oh, um, home?” he said, rather unhelpfully. That was where he was supposed to be, of course, but a stranger wouldn’t know where he lived. “I live in Queen Snow White’s castle.” There was only one Queen Snow. Surely that would be enough for the kind stranger who’d found him. Then again, it didn’t look like they were in a forest. How far away from the castle was he?

“Perhaps magic sent me here? I ... really don’t know how far away I am from home. I”m sorry.”

Camilo grinned and nodded. “Yeah. Your hair’s looking good. So’s your skin. Gotta remember to use moisturizer Tio Bruno!” It was hard to get that in the walls of a house, but now Camilo was determined to help their uncle. “You look good, but has anyone given you some skin care tips? Let us help keep you looking sharp!”

Pepa never thought she’d be the dangerous one. Then again, who could create a hurricane with all of her stress, anxiety, and fears? There was so much uncertain. He had wanted to calm her by showing her everything was okay but in her mind, Pepa could only interpret the visions as something terrible. Everything would go wrong for Dolores. Another ruined wedding day. It wasn’t Bruno, it was her! Control yourself. You have a cloud. There was something building inside of her. It was dangerous. It was building in her head and her chest. Mamá would remind her that she was making Casita’s tiles slippery with her drizzle but this was so much more than a drizzle. She was forgetting to show her feelings. The storm wasn’t a cloud trailing behind her and betraying her every emotion to the entire family- it was inside. Her heart raced and her vision could only see bolts of lighting. He warned her to let go. This time she only had herself to blame for not opening up and for clinging to ghosts that were long-since departed. Now Pepa could scarely lift her head from her pillow. “Félix, mi amor...” Her voice was soft like the morning sunlight despite the storm that had taken hold of her. “Will you get Bruno? I need to tell him something.” A cold, clammy hand reached for Bruno’s. “You warned me. I didn’t listen. It isn’t your fault. You tried to save me. Brunito, lo siento. I should have been a better sister.” That’s what he had meant by the wedding day in the vision. She wasn’t going to be there. “Dios mio, lo siento.” Hopefully Dolores would forgive her for ignoring something so simple.
