@endlines: ‘ what’s a bit more blood ? ’ for vayne :3c
❝ A macabre topic so early in the morning, don’t you think? ❞
Shauna eyed the other over her teacup. She looked tired, as if she hadn’t slept well — but truthfully she was just tired, in general. Years upon years of hunting beasts, and now her own “ allies ” as it were, had taken its toll on her, unfortunately, still mortal body and as much as she wished to hide it, the cracks in the walls she had spent decades building around herself were now coming to light.
She took a moment to enjoy a sip of her tea while it was still warm. Then, putting her cup down on the table, she folded her hands in her lap and sat up proper. What’s a bit more blood? In all honesty, when it came to the creatures of darkness — and yes, that even being her turned comrades — Shauna had never felt much besides relief when killing.
❝ In any case, I have no qualms killing if it means we save lives in doing so. Blood is only a comfort — if it bleeds, that means it has a weakness. ❞
Yes, she had no issues talking about such topics over breakfast. Her mind was already there, and Malcolm’s inquiry had only given voice to her thoughts. Though, as much as she did not mind talking about blood and killing over the breakfast table, she was still taking her time finishing her cup of tea. It was just about the only thing that reminded her of her childhood, of better times. And despite what she might say, Shauna lamented her younger days still.
Eventually she did finish her drink, and she stood from her chair and regarded Malcolm for the first time since he’d come up to her.
