Endro is an insanely cute fantasy CGDCT which is actually worth watching!

The setting is pretty cliché: there’s the Hero and the Dark Lord and they have to fight each other. But Endro takes this concept and punches it until it comes out looking fresh and fun!

Immediately, the first episode sets up the tone of the show. It starts in a really unique way and it keeps up the weirdness until the very end of the episode. You should experience it yourself so I don’t want to spoil it. For the rest of the anime we follow Yusha and her 3 companions in adventuring school, at the dorms and on adventures. The actual plot really only takes the forefront in the first and last few episodes, for the rest it’s mostly like a Slice-of-Life anime in fantasy setting. Which is why the characters and their chemistry are very important. The girls could’ve gotten a bit more personality but for the lighthearted tone of the show, the few traits we get for the girls and how those bounce off of each other are enough.

Endro is very lighthearted and has a really fun humour to it. It doesn’t rely on “RaNdOm’ stuff happening, it builds up the jokes pretty well which makes the whole show a delight to watch.

And I can’t forget to mention the artstyle! It’s so, so, SO cute! Characters have the general moe look to them but the colours, the effects and the animation are such a pleasure to watch.

Now, I remember seeing some people saying that this show is for “lolicons” and it’s really not. There are some jokes that made me grimace a little but I could count on one hand the amount of times that happened. There’s one longrunning joke of one of the “flat girls” wanting bigger boobs but that’s such a cliché schtick used in so many anime that I didn’t even bat an eye.

Anyway, if you like cute and lighthearted shows with adorable art, this is a great watch.
