Day 181 of 365; It's the celebration and the massive protest at the same time of the Metro Manila Pride 2018 and it was once again held in Marikina, now, within the Sports Complex and boy it's the biggest MMPride to date. It was fun, a bit wet due to a sudden downpour but ultimately it was worth every effort we have exerted. Marikina may be LGBTQIA friendly but the city is yet to pass an anti-discrimination ordinance that would protect its LGBTQIA citizens but I'm still hoping that the SOGIE bill in both Congress and Senate will be passed soon. Because it's not enough to have educated citizenry when there are still a number of reported abuses and homophobic actions that ultimately endangers each and every LGBTQIA. Let's face it, it's a vulnerable sector and all vulnerable sectors need protection from abuses. Isn't that the case for women and children? I just wish everyone would be more open minded, and more accepting. Happy Pride! This isn't the end, this is just another beginning of another journey for more responsible and loving communities and we still have to work for a world where everyone is free from fear of being attacked because of their gender and sexuality. I just wish gender and sexuality was never such a big deal at all. Oh well, we can always dream. . . . #day181of365 #perspectives #happypride #lgbtqia #riseuptogether #enddiscrimination #endsenselessviolence #equalrightsnow #loveislove #lovewins #photoaday (at Marikina Sports Center)
