The longer I think about Homestuck’s ending the harder I go
The hell was that
I think one of my favourite things that surrounds Homestuck is that whenever it's mentioned to someone who knows /roughly/ what it is, or has in some way encountered it here or there, is that they never know the right verb. What I mean is, instead of saying: "Oh, yeah, I know Homestuck, but I've never read it." They say things like "I've never played Homestuck," or "never watched Homestuck." And if that doesn't attest to how much Homestuck broke the norm of webcomics (and also how much the fandom was successful in the "Homestuck anime" prank/meme) then i don't know what does.
As someone who experienced the dissapointment and fandom divide caused by Mass Effect 3′s ending first-hand, it’s surreal seeing the exact same thing happening with Homestuck
More Homestuck
Ok, so here’s one thing that I haven’t seen anyone else posting about yet, and I’m wondering if anyone else came away with this.
When Caliborn breaks his god tier clock, the first thing he does is break the lever. At the top of the lever was a cue ball.
I think this finally explains why Caledfwlch was able to kill Lord English- it was alchemized out of a piece of his god tier clock.
The ending to homestuck is what happens when someone writes a story outline, writes the ending, then writes the rest of the story. The ending was written long ago, when “beating the game” was the primary focus of the narrative. I won’t say the ending was bad, it was just wasn’t focused on things I’ve grown to care the most about.
Thanks for playing.
i'm sobbing please someone hold me
