You know what would be a good idea? If the police were only allowed to carry DART GUNS. Because then they would still be able to shoot at their suspects, however instead of KILLING THEM, they would either become temporarily debilitated or knocked unconscious. Of course ideally there would be no shooting at all, but that’s just unrealistic, isn’t it? I don’t know about everyone else, but I’d rather wake up with a teeny tiny dart-sized hole in my arm, leg, butt, or even my face, than to not wake up at all.
It’s important for cops to be able to protect themselves, as well as citizens, but not at the cost of innocent or even not-so-innocent lives. Also, don’t forget, tasers are less deadly than guns too.
