Siobhan is careful to word these remarks far away from Alisaie's ears. It's something the girl had needed, she thinks, whether or not Inanna intended for this to be the desired outcome. Alisaie is certainly preening about it.

But there's a risk, too, in asking this of Inanna. Unsure of their nature in losing — as the esteemed Warrior rarely loses — and so, hoping they aren't sore about it, Siobhan finishes her inquiry with some small trepidation hollowing out the base of her stomach, sliding over a small plate of croissants with a small charcuterie spread while she does so.

she collapses into the chair, elbows propping on the table, staring up at him with her fingers arced against her forehead. very, you know, what the fuck. wide-eyed. deer-ly.

"the world. is so. awful. did you know that? did — did you know that, before i went to — spend time with the — did you know how awful the world is. did you just. like. forget to mention? how awful? the? world? is?"

and it's kind of funny, that all it takes is to see him again to make the moments of the past a tale in humor instead of woe. that she could think of everything up until this point — the losses, the tears, the fears upon fears — and exaggerate like this, in the hopes of hearing one of those ever elusive huffs of amusement.

the world is so fucked up. it feels — less so, sitting here. somehow. she hopes it can make him laugh.

"why didn't you say anything. what the fuck. i — i need." happy to see him, she twists to glance at the display case of the last stand, look back. "i need. about. fifteen — pastries. like. right now."
