I’ve been meaning to write here...
...about how my perception shifted a bit immediately when I started this experiment, and how I’ve been intuitively feeling “Aphrodite wants me to do this” or the like, little nudges in particular direction, or toward particular activities, or toward ideas. It’s more like intuition than anything concretely identifiable as a message. It would be a long piece of writing, which is why I’ve been procrastinating, but the above is sufficient TL;DR for it. But a common theme -- a VERY common theme -- is that she nudges me toward Artemis. She’s willing to work with me, but I have to be willing to work with Artemis, too. I’m okay with that in principle, but tend to be lazy about it in practice (which, surprise, in my mythology Artemis is the goddess of [among other things] not being lazy, so...).
But today Artemis was reaching out like crazy, putting her name in front of me all evening. I was feeling tired this afternoon and almost cancelled going to a friend’s house for our weekly TV/movie night, but then I though Aphrodite would want me to go, social interaction is good for me and isolation is bad for me. But then, all evening, Artemis, Artemis, Artemis! We watched Ready Player One, in which one of the main characters uses Art3mis as her in-game name. A while later, he put on a few episodes of Young Justice, one of which introduced Green Arrow’s niece, Artemis. (They hinted that she might not be what she seems, but I haven’t gotten that far yet, so no spoilers, please!) And then on the way home, I saw a poster for a pair of lost cats named Phantom and, you guessed it, Artemis.
I recently heard the quote “I’m not superstitious enough to believe in coincidences”. Not sure where, most likely a Big Finish audio adventure I was listening to. It seems apropos, as does the Goldfinger quote, “Once is happenstance. Twice is coincidence. The third time it’s enemy action.”
Okay, Artemis. I’m listening. Now what?
