Last Friday I walked thriugh rain slucked cities, sat on misty windowed buses and shuntering black windowed trains, listened to ancient myths brought vividly to life and drew this picture in and amongst it all. I was thinking of my father as I drew though not entirely sure why, missing him and half imagining his spirit peering over my shoulder as I drew my way home. The join might not quite show up but these two images are part of a VERY LARGE painting I created for a friend whose father had died. I think of the figure as an angel of compassion who listens to the tear-stained tales brought back from our world by his winged companions rather than offering answers or advice.
