Calorie vs. Energy
If you were to read a nutrition label outside the States, you would notice the word “calorie” is replaced by “energy.” To me, this is the most ideal way to describe what we put into our bodies.
Energy cannot be created nor destroyed, only transfered. Our bodies transfer energy out with the daily upkeep of our bodies, using our mental capacities, working out, and the like. We transfer energy in by eating and even such activies as mediating.
It is important when transferring energy to pay attention to where you are directing your energy and where you are receiving it from.
