Storm on Engineer Mountain by Mark Betts Via Flickr: The fabulous views on US 550 just kept coming. We rounded the bend just north of Purgatory and saw this. It is Engineer Mountain with storm clouds wraping around its mid-slope. The dark storm clouds behind the peak gave a hint of the sleet and snow to come. Just enough sun was breaking through the clouds to the south to spotlight the golden aspens on the lower slope. D0A0504

Fall colours on Engineer Mountain (12,968 ft) close to Coal Financial institution Move between Durango and Silverton, Colorado.
