A/N: Oh, wow! It has been a very long, but very fun journey here in the world of English, Please. It was very fun to write and very fun to see what everyone thought of this series! But, sadly, it is time for this series to come to an end. If you had told me when I first started that this idea would end up having fifteen parts to it... I would have nodded and gone “That tracks.” I’m so happy to have done this with all of you, and I’m so glad I got to experience writing/reading Professor Elijah Mikaelson. Thank you so much, and happy reading!

You had an October wedding in New Orleans. All of your friends and family came, one with an engagement of her own.
The wedding was beautiful, followed by a grand wedding parade that filled the streets with plenty of music and cheers to last a lifetime.
Your wedding present from Elijah was the key to a brand new home for the two of you to share. It was christened that night in more rooms than one.
You did not have your honeymoon until Christmas break. He took you to France, where you spent a week and a half trying new foods, dancing to good music, sightseeing and photographing things for your friends, and having plenty of sex with your new husband.
The next few years were spent getting your degree to teach and attending your friends' weddings. When you finally graduated, Elijah was more than proud of you. To celebrate, he took you to Spain (where you learned he was also well versed in Spanish).
Freya was more than happy to start letting you work that her school. The kids quickly grew fond of you, and you grew fond of the teaching. At first, it was just sub work, until you finally got a class of your own teaching French.
It took some time, but you and Elijah officially settled down. It had been years of finishing college, but now you had a job and a loving husband. You were set, and you were happy.
But there was one thing missing from your life.
You were cuddled up in bed with the TV on one night with Elijah, your head resting on his shoulder as your fingers traced over his chest. "Lijah?" you asked, looking up at him.
He directed his attention to you, humming as his own fingers traced along your back. "You know how we were waiting to get settled before we had children?"
He tilted his head, sitting up slightly. "Yes, why?" he asked, a slight smile tugging at the corner of his lips.
You smiled as well, sitting up a little as you flipped onto your stomach. You pulled your bottom lip between your teeth before admitting quietly, "I'm not on birth control."
His face lit up, and he wrapped an arm around you to pull you to his lips. He kissed you so deeply, you immediately ran out of breath. "Are you serious?" he questioned, his voice barely above a whisper.
You nodded and chuckled, "I want to have your baby, Elijah."
He sat up entirely, pulling you into his lap as he tangled his hands in your hair. He pulled you in to another kiss, his tongue slipping into your mouth as he held you tight.
"You have no idea how long I've been waiting to hear that," he told you, the smile on his face stuck.
You chuckled, "You have no idea how long I've been waiting to do it." You pulled his button down off of him, your hands smoothing against his skin.

The drive back from the airport was quiet, your head resting on your fist as you looked out of the window. Elijah's eyes traveled back and forth between you and the road. He reached a hand over, setting it gently on your lap and giving a light squeeze.
You looked over at him and offered a sad smile. "Are you okay?" he whispered.
You nodded gently, "Yeah."
He let out a quiet sigh, "I'm sorry about the flight. We can reschedule and visit soon but fore term starts again. You have my word."
You gave a weak smile and nodded. You then sighed, "I'm just obsessed the flight got cancelled. I was looking forward to seeing my parents for Christmas."
He nodded, "I know. I'm sorry." He offered you a smile, "Look on the bright side, you get more alone time with me."
You let a genuine smile spread over your face, "That is a good thing." His smile spread and he turned back to the road. You leaned over and kissed his cheek.
"So it's me, you, and Kol and your sisters for Christmas, huh?" you mumbled. He nodded.
You then sighed, "Caroline will have to wait for her gift then." You chuckled lightly. He breathed a laugh.
"I think she'll live," he replied.
You snorted, "You don't know Caroline."
You both laughed lightly, and Elijah gently squeezed your hand. "When we get home," he said, "you and I will spend the rest of the night curled up on the couch watching Christmas movies."
You smiled, "Sounds like a plan, chérie amour." He smiled at you and kissed the back of your hand.
~
"I know, Mom," you said as you walked around the room with your phone to your ear. "I was really looking forward to coming over for Christmas with Elijah."
"We were too," your father input. "I'm trying to meet the boy who stole my daughter's heart so I know if I have to steal his life or not."
You rolled your eyes, "Dad!"
"I'm just being honest," he replied.
"Mom, make him stop," you told her. The door clicked and Elijah stepped in with a smile. You mouthed a "Hi" to him as he walked inside holding a box of pizza.
"Be nice," she said to him.
You huffed, "And I don't date boys, Dad. I don't have time for boys."
"Oh, so he's a man?" he asked. You rolled your eyes again. You could practically hear the look he would have on his face. He would be smirking, his eyebrow raised at your claim as he questioned the genuinity of Elijah.
"Is he there right now?" your mother asked as she dismissed your father. You nodded and handed the phone to Elijah as you took the box.
You and Elijah agreed that it was safe for him to finally be able to meet your parents. Back at home, they never knew about or met him. They never had to come to your school for anything so they really did not care who your teachers were.
As far as you and Elijah knew, no one would care now that you were out of school, and they would never have to know anything.
"Hello, Mr and Mrs. Y/L/N. How are you?" he asked as he held the phone to his ear, stuffing a hand in his pocket as he walked over to you picking up a slice of the pizza he bought.
You could hear mumbling on the other end as your mother said something.
Elijah looked at you with a smile, "I hope so." He winked at you and you chuckled a little, blushing lightly as you ate the pizza slice in your hand. He leaned over and kissed your forehead before he left the room for a moment.
His voice was muffled on the other side of the door as he continued speaking with your parents. You stood and ventured over to the cabinet, pulling out a bottle of his favorite and pouring two glasses.
Eventually, he came back into the room and handed the phone back to you. You smiled and he sat across from you, picking up a slice. "Hey," you greeted.
"Hey. Listen, we're going to go. We'll call you tomorrow for Christmas," your father said.
"Alright. Talk then," you replied.
"Bye, honey," your mother said.
"Bye." The line cut out and you set the phone down.
"What'd you talk about?" you wondered as you took a sip from your glass.
"Christmas presents," he replied.
"So I can't know what?"
He shook his head with a smile and you laughed. "Alright-y then. Keep your secrets, Professor." He gave you a smile and ate with you.
~
When Christmas Day came, so did Elijah's older brother, Finn. He looked like him, but he was taller and had hazel eyes.
"Hi," you greeted shyly as you held out your hand. "I'm Y/N." Elijah stood at your side with his arm wrapped securely around you. He had not been excited for you to meet his brother.
"I know," he told you. He glanced over at his brother and then nodded back at you. "I'm Finn."
"I know," you said. The first meeting was rocky, but he was not unpleasant, just a little cold.
You and the Mikaelson (along with their significant others), with the obvious exception of Niklaus, went out to eat for dinner. It was nice, but you did wish you had everyone else with you.
When you got back home, you gathered in the living room and sat around the tree to start opening the presents. A some point, you picked up a box and handed it to Elijah. He tore open the wrapping paper patiently and revealed a box filled with six others.
You grabbed the smaller boxes and set one to the side. "These are for you," you told them as you passed out the boxes between the siblings.
They smirked at you before opening the boxes. Their faces seemed to light up as they pulled open the boxes, revealing small, silver origami animal faces on chains.
"What is this?" Rebekah gasped as she looked at her bear shaped necklace.
You smiled, "Elijah told me about your animal representations and I decided to have these made for you."
Kol looked fox head shaped necklace with a smirk, "It's amazing, darling."
Freya had an owl head on her necklace, Rebekah had a bear head, Finn had a boar, and Elijah had a stag with large antlers. He looked at you with a smile and kissed your forehead. "This is beautiful, my dear," he whispered to you. "Thank you."
You smiled and leaned into his side. The rest of the siblings thanked you- Finn was surprised he received a gift from you. The gift giving continued a little while longer before all the gifts were given out.
Everyone stayed back a little while longer with drinks and conversation. Soon, they retreated before it got too late so they could spend the rest of Christmas night with their lovers.
You and Elijah retreated back to your room, turning on the lamp on the table as Elijah trailed behind you.
You saw a white envelope on the farthest desk in the room and picked it up curiously. "What's this?" you asked glancing at him over your shoulder before picking up the envelope and opening it.
You smiled at a fancy Christmas card inside, opening it to read the words.
"Turn around"
You arched a brow and turned to question Elijah. "What is this?" you asked, looking up and expecting to see Elijah, but finding nothing there.
Your eyes slowly turned down.
Elijah knelt in front of you with a diamond ring presented, glistening in the soft light from the lamp on your bedside table. His eyes glittered as he looked up at you, his lips parted and pulled into a nervous smile.
"Elijah?" you whispered gently, your heart thundering in your chest as your legs began to shake.
"Y/N," he said in a whisper, "Je sais que nous avons dit que nous allions attendre, mais je ne peux pas attendre un autre instant." (I know we said we were going to wait, but I can't wait another moment.)
You could hardly see now, your eyes were tearing up as you looked down at the man knelt before you.
"Je ne veux rien de plus que d'être avec toi pour le reste de ma vie. Je veux être votre mari, le père de vos enfants, et ton toujours. Veux-tu m'épouser?" he whispered, his voice quivering slightly as he watched you breathlessly. (I want nothing more than to be with you for the rest of my life. I want to be your husband, the father of your children, and your always. Will you marry me?)
You were quiet after his confession, his proposal.
"Please say yes," he said as his lips turned into a nervous smirk.

As you giddily bounce around the kitchen, prepping some of the food for tomorrow's Thanksgiving Dinner just to give yourself something to do, you can't help but listen and watch closely to your phone. You were just waiting, anticipation deep within your soul as you waited for it to chime a message you have been waiting to see for a while now.
It was early in the morning, barely nine o'clock, but you were too excited to sleep. You had woken mere hours before next to Elijah, and he had tried to get you to go back go sleep for a little while longer, but had not been able to get you to settle down. You busied yourself, instead, with cooking, and Elijah would be coming down soon to help.
When your phone let out that chiming sound that told you of the incoming message, you ran to it and brought it to your face. Turning the phone on, you frowned deeply when it just turned out to be a notification from a long forgotten app on your face.
You grimace and set the phone down, turning back to the food you were working on as Elijah walked into the room. "It will come, do not worry yourself," Elijah told you, passing by you with a kiss to your temple.
You hummed, absent-mindedly slaving away at the stuffing. He tied an apron around his waist and began pulling out the ingredients for one of the pies you would be preparing. "So who's on the guest list for tomorrow?"
You spoke as you continued to work, "Obviously, all of your siblings—besides Finn—will be here. Remind me why?"
She shrugged absent-mindedly, "Finn stopped partaking in our family get-togethers years ago. Although, you may be acquainted to him around Christmas time."
You hummed, "Well, there's also Marcel and Keelin. Josh and Aiden said they would be able to make it, along with Davina. Cami said she'll be able to make it. Father Kieran will be busy, so she's free. I invited Jamall, but he's out of town with family in Mississippi this week." You frowned a little at that news but continued anyway.
You perked up at the next mentions, your giddiness returning as you spoke, "Caroline will be here soon! I've been waiting to snatch a holiday with her for forever!"
Elijah smiled at your joy, pressing his lips to your cheek. "Oh!" you mumbled, "Damon and Bonnie are coming too! Bonnie is bringing her boyfriend with her, Damon said he's 'coming for the drama'. But it's Damon, so he probably just got bored and wanted to see his star." You did a little pose for dramatic effect and earned a chuckle from Elijah.
When your phone rang, filling the room with Caroline's personalized ringtone which was the theme song to Friends (she had set it up like that years ago), you dashed to the phone. Wiping your hands on Elijah's apron, you answered the phone quickly.
"Hey, Caroline!" you exclaimed.
Her voice came on the other end, a sound you have been hearing regularly for the past few months. "Hey! We're about to get on the flight."
"Great! I can't wait to see you," you told her.
"Me, neither! I-" there was a voice in the background as Caroline stopped for a moment. Her voice came through again as she said, "Klaus wanted to say hi."
There were shuffling noises as the phone was passed over. You put the phone on speaker and set it on the counter. "Hello, love, brother," Niklaus' charming voice spoke.
"Hey, Nik," you replied with a smile.
"Hello, dear brother," Elijah said.
"I wonder how the family drama will take the stage this year." You could practically hear his smirk through the phone.
"No!" Caroline's voice said in the background, a warning in her tone as she said, "No drama!"
Niklaus chuckled and Elijah nodded, "She is absolutely right, Niklaus. Although I do not doubt that a turn of events may rear its quite unflattering head, we will not allow any drama this year around."
"We'll see about that," he said. The phone was then shuffled over again, before being passed to someone else. Bonnie's voice spoke up and your smile grew. "Hey, Y/N! It's been forever."
"Hey, Bon Bon," you replied. "I'm so glad you were able to come this year. How's Grams?"
"She's having Thanksgiving with all our parents this year," she said, "Keeping each other company."
"That's great. I hear you're bringing a boy~" you smirked, dragging out the last sound.
"Stop it!" she laughed, "You'll love him, I do."
You heard an unfamiliar voice in the background as he replied, "Who wouldn't love a face like this?" You rolled your eyes and the phone shuffled again. You looked up at Elijah, who winked at you.
"Aren't you glad the sexier Salvatore is coming?" Damon's voice remarked.
You snorted, "How is Stefan?" You could hear him pat something, probably his heart, as he replied, "That's cold. No, Stefan and Elena are in Mystic Falls having an awkward dinner by themselves."
You frowned mockingly, as if he could see you, "Aww, did wittle Damey Wamey get lonely and decide to join his favowite fwiends?"
"Alright, I'm going back," he said, giving the phone back to Bonnie.
"No, come on," she said with a slight huff. "We'll see you soon, Y/N."
"Bye!" you said, "Meet you at the airport when your fought lands."
"Bye!" Caroline's voice said, as if she was speaking from a distance. The call disconnected and you smiled at Elijah. "Ça va être une salle comble, hein?" (It's going to be a full house, eh?)
He sighed with a smile as he continued working on the pie crust, "Nous aurons assez de nourriture." (We'll have enough food.)
~
Elijah sat next to you at the airport, placing a hand on your thigh as it bounced uncontrollably. You put your own hand over his, intertwining your fingers.
You could hardly control your excitement at the thought of seeing your closest friends again. This Thanksgiving was going to be a big one, and you would be damned if you were going to let it go to waste. Your eyes searched the gate exit quickly, your eyes glued to it as you awaited your friends' arrival.
When you heard footsteps beginning to sound from the walkway, you stood from your seat. Elijah let out a chuckle, standing and wrapping his arms around you. With his head in the crook of your neck, he whispered in your ear, "They won't go away, my dear."You breathed a single chuckle.
People started walking through the threshold, some talking with friends and family and others by themselves. Some went to embrace people they had come to see, waiting for them just as you were with your friends.
Then you heard Caroline's excited voice, already calling your name before she even reached the exit. "Y/N?"
You smiled widely as she came through, peaking her head around before her eyes landed on you. "Caroline!" you exclaimed quietly. She started rushing over to you, Bonnie following excitedly as the two girls embraced you.
"Oh, it's been so long!" you said as you squeezed her tight. The other men came through with smiles on their faces, Niklaus walking calmly to his brother as they hugged one another. "Hello, Elijah," he smiled.
"Brother," Elijah responded, patting his back. "It's good to see you."
"It's always good to see me," Niklaus remarked. Elijah rolled his eyes playfully.
When you let go of your friends, you turned to the others and hugged them as well. Damon put you in a bone crushing hold, lifting you off the ground and tousling your hair. "Hey, shorty," he greeted you, "It's been forever."
"Not long enough," you raised a brow playfully.
He placed a hand over his heart in mock hurt, "You wound me."
You laughed and hugged him again, "It's good to see you, Damon."
When you let go of him, he went to pick with your boyfriend as you turned to Bonnie's. "So you're the one dating Bonnie. I'm Y/N," you held your hand out for him to shake.
He grabbed it and raised it to his lips, reminding you very much of Elijah and his family. He flashed you a charming yet friendly smile and introduced himself, "It is quite lovely to meet you, Y/N." In the next second, Elijah was standing possessively at your side, wrapping his arm around your waist as he stared down the man. You had hardly noticed, you were so used to him being at your hip.
He looked up at Elijah respectfully but not in the least bit scared as he gave a slight bow, "I'm Lorenzo, but everyone just calls me Enzo."
Damon came by his side, patting his back as he said, "He's one of my old buddies. He's fine, he won't bite. I might."
You rolled your eyes before you nodded, "That's right, Damon brought you up maybe once or twice. It's nice to finally meet you."
He nodded as Bonnie joined his side, "Very nice indeed."
~
You all managed to squish into the SUV Marcel had gotten one of his friends to lend you. The ride back was lively, filled with chatter and joy as conversation flowed non-stop inside of the car.
When you all returned to the compound, the siblings happily greeted each other before you all sent the boys away while you, Caroline, Bonnie, Rebekah, Freya, and Keelin cooked. Soon enough, Davina and Cami joined the crowd and you all were cooking in the vast kitchen. It helped to catch up on all the gossip and fool around while the boys caught up with themselves.
At some point, Rebekah grinned, "So, who here has popped the question yet?"
You rolled your eyes, "Bex, you know that question won't be popped for a while."
She rolled her eyes, "Yes, because you're 'waiting a year'. You already act like a married couple."
"What about you? Has Marcel seemed strange lately?" Davina raised a brow as she smirked.
Rebekah shook her head, "No, he's been the gentleman he always is."
Caroline sighed, "Klaus hasn't been acting suspicious lately, but you never know with him anyway."
Bonnie shrugged, "I really just got with Enzo a couple months ago. We're nowhere near that."
"What about you two?" Rebekah asked, turning to Keelin and Freya.
Freya rolled her eyes, "We will do that when we're ready. No need to pry."
"But that's what she does, Freya," Keelin snickered.
You turned to Davina, "How's dating life going?"
She shrugged, nodding slowly as she worked with the cookies meticulously, "It's... coming."
Cami gently patted her back, "Aw, you'll find somebody. I'm sure Bex could help you."
Davina laughed, "Thanks, I think I'm okay."
Rebekah mocked offense, "Excuse you, I am Cupid as I live and breathe." You all share a laugh as it spreads around the room.
"I think you'll be fine either way, though," Cami said. "I mean, look at me. I'm single, and I'm doing great," she punctuated that statement with a long pump of whipped cream into her mouth.
"Don't use up the whipped cream!" you exclaimed as you went to grab the bottle from her. Laughter scattered around the room while you put the whipped cream away. You all continued to cook and converse with one another as you caught up and had fun.
When the pre-prepared food was finished (besides the turkey), you all went out to hang for the rest of the day. It eventually ended with a large group of people at Rousseau's drinking and talking for the night before retreating to bed for tomorrow's feast—which the cooking of would be finished off by the boys while you and the others decorated.
~
You woke up slowly in the morning, stretching your limbs out before wrapping them around Elijah's neck. With a groan, you buried your head in his chest and just laid there. He smiled, his arms going to wrap around your own waist as he sleepily kissed your forehead. "Good morning," he whispered to you, "Happy Thanksgiving, my dear."
You grumbled lightly and nodded into his chest as a reply. "We've gotta get up before Rebekah drags us out of bed to start preparing," he sighed but made no move to stand.
"We don't start until three," you mumbled.
He chuckled deeply, "Well, it's almost eleven and we still have to cook and set up."
You huffed and looked at him, "We still have to get in the shower."
"Which is why we should get out of the bed, my love, you know that will take forever," his lips pulled into a smirk as he looked down at you.
You sighed and nodded, a smile covering your own lips as the two of you got up and into the shower. A very long shower.
Once out, things started going as everyone residing in the compound made their way to the kitchen and dining area. Cami, Davina, Josh, and Aiden would not be coming until later on, but would be there soon.
You laughed and hung out as you and the girls set the table while the boys crowded the kitchen—with the exception of Damon, who can't really cook. He also helped the ladies in setting up.
As the time for the dinner drew closer, the rest of the party began to show up with an unexpected guest joining. You greeted them at the door, a smile on your face that faltered very slightly when you saw the new guest.
"Hey, guys," you greeted. You looked at the woman by Cami's side. She was tall with brunette hair and hazel eyes. The smile on her face was small, but it seemed as if her intention on being friendly was only half-hearted. "Who's this?" you asked gently.
Cami nodded, "Oh, you said I could bring a friend with me if I wanted. Originally, I wasn't going to, but I took you up on the offer. This is Hayley. She's new to town and didn't have anywhere to go for Thanksgiving so I invited her. I hope that's okay."
It seemed to get a little quiet behind you as the clatter of dishes in the kitchen grew distant. There were footsteps drawing near to you and you turned to see Elijah taking your side with a tensed expression on his face, his shoulders firm.
"Hayley Marshall is no foreigner to New Orleans," he said as he wrapped an arm around your waist. "I suppose you moved back from Carolina."
Her eyes stuck to Elijah as she gaze at him like he was the most beautiful work of art. He was, but that did not mean you wanted some other woman eyeing him up and down.
She nodded with a sigh, a distant smile on her lips, "Yeah, actually, I need a bit of fresh, nostalgic air. I thought you were in Virginia."
"Hm," he hummed.
What the hell was going on?
Everyone was now watching with interest and discomfort. The Mikaelson siblings sighed gently as the past began to mingle with the present. Niklaus, on the other hand, seemed almost excited and amused by the unfolding of events.
As Hayley eyed him and Elijah glared at her, you moved uncomfortably out of Elijah's hold and muttered, "Alright, I'm going to keep setting the table. Everyone come on in."
Elijah's jaw clenched and he walked back in with you. You whispered to him as you walked slowly, "Alors qui est Hayley Marshall? Comment la connais tu?" (So who is Hayley Marshall? How do you know her?)
He sighed, looking around and fjnding Niklaus' eyes on you both. He placed his hand on the small of your back and the two of you walked away to find a place to talk.
Once in his study, he closed the door softly and you took a seat on his desk. He walked over to you, slowly placing his hands on your thighs and gripping them lightly. He looked at you, his eyes gazing intently.
He opened his mouth, his tongue reaching up and touching the roof of his mouth as he thought. He then sighed as he began speaking. "Je t'ai dit que j'habitais en Virginie quand j'étais jeune." (I told you I lived in Virginia when I was young.)
You nodded, "Oui. Vous avez déménagé ici pendant l'école." (You moved here during school.)
He nodded, "Pendant que j'étais au lycée... Hayley et moi étions ensemble." (While I was in high school... Hayley and I were together.)
Your heart stopped for a moment, irrational jealousy flooding your veins and making you feel ill all of a sudden. You nodded slowly, your head falling a little as you looked down at your fidgeting hands. "Oh," you mumbled.
He nodded slowly, "Elle a déménagé en Caroline du Nord avant mon retour en Virginie." (She moved to North Carolina before I returned to Virginia.)
His hands lifted, cupping your face gently so you would look at him again. He gave a reassuring smile, "C'était il y a des années. J'ai besoin que tu saches que je suis amoureux de toi maintenant. (It was years ago. I need you to know that I'm in love with you now.)
You grabbed his hands tightly and smiled gently. His smile returned to his face as he pressed his lips to yours, "Il n'y a rien qui puisse m'éloigner de toi." (There is nothing that can take me away from you.)
You nodded, "Je t'aime aussi." (I love you too.)
He sighed gently and picked you up to stand you in your feet. "Now," he said, "let's get ready for the food."
You nodded and grabbed his face, kissing him deeply as you branded him with your lips. When you pulled away, you swiped your thumb along his cheek and said, "Tu es à moi." (You're mine.)
He nodded, "Toujours et pour toujours." (Always and forever.)
You titled your head slightly. He shrugged, "It's a rough translation." You hummed and patted his cheek as the two of you returned to the dining room.
When Hayley caught sight of you both, she asked quickly, "Is this weird? Did I make things weird? I can just go."
Elijah gave a look that seemed like he was pondering the idea but you were quick to jump in, "No, don't worry." You let out an internal sigh, "Everyone's welcome on Thanksgiving."
Caroline shot you a look and a slight sigh. You knew that look. It was the look she gave when she subconsciously judged people. You rolled your eyes at her and then turned to Hayley, holding out your hand hesitantly, "I'm Y/N. Elijah's my boyfriend."
She hummed, "It's good to meet you."
You nodded and went to continue setting the table with your friends. Bonnie and Caroline sidled up to your sides and glanced at you. They did not speak, they just made their presence known as they eventually were glued to your hips.
"Quoi?" you asked them.
"You're speaking French again," Caroline told you. You shrugged and rolled your eyes as you set the silverware down. "You should know that much. We took the same class."
"But you got private lessons," she raised a brow with a smirk and you huffed.
"Caroline-"
Bonnie interrupted you, her voice a whisper shout, "What was the talk about?"
You huffed and sat against the table, keeping your voice down as you talked with your friends, "She's Elijah's ex from high school."
Their jaws dropped, although Caroline's dropped admittedly more than Bonnie's. She lightly hit your shoulder, "Are you seriously going to let your boyfriend's ex eat the macaroni and cheese?"
You rolled your eyes, "Don't judge me, Caroline. I'm trying to be nice. It's Thanksgiving."
She frowned slightly, her brows creasing in worry, "Am I judging again? I'm sorry."
You shrugged, "It's fine. Just... when this is all over, we will agree never to talk about it again. Okay?"
Bonnie snorted, "Alright."
"Bonnie, you're supposed to be on my side!" you told her.
She raised her hands in defense, "I'm not choosing sides!" You huffed again and moved to help Josh.
Meanwhile, Niklaus and Kol were circling Elijah like a vulture. He ignored them as he continued working. They sent smirks back and forth, getting in their older brother's way in an attempt to grab his attention. Elijah's everlasting patience came to a halt as he turned his eyes on his siblings.
"Is there something I can help you with?" he questioned, wiping his hands on the hand towel laid across the counter.
They shrugged to one another. Niklaus spoke, "I don't know, I just find it strange that you seem generally calm with the fact that your ex-flame is sitting and having dinner with your current love."
Elijah raised a brow and Kol nodded, "As a matter of fact, Nik, I happen to be puzzled by the same thing. Care to explain to us, dear brother?"
Elijah pinched the bridge of his nose and shook his head, taking a moment to admire his brother's annoying tag team. "I do not believe the current situation at hand is something the two of you should have any problem understanding. While I do not care for Hayley's presence, it does not mean the wish of Y/N to have her stay out of hospitality needs to be challenged by myself."
The two brothers continued to smirk. Kol shrugged, "Oh, I just need help clearing up an issue. So is Hayley's presence, in fact, an issue for you? Would you classify it as such?"
Elijah let out an annoyed sigh and responded, "It is mildly irritating, you in the other hand are majorly so. But again, Y/N's wish is rule."
Niklaus let a wide smirk overtake his face as he held his hand out to Kol, who groaned as he reached for his wallet. He pulled out a twenty and smacked it into Niklaus' hand.
Elijah mumbled something under his breath. Klaus looked back up at his big brother with a shit-eating grin all over his face. "You see, Elijah, Kol and I had placed a wager. He bet that it would be one of my problems to suddenly appear on this day of thanks. I, however, bet it would be one of yours."
He waved the twenty in the air and wink, "Glad to know I was right." They then left Elijah alone to roll his eyes at his siblings' shenanigans as they all returned to their previous jobs.
~
Light chatter and laughter spread throughout the well-decorated compound as you all enjoyed dinner. You kept glancing over to find Davina and Kol in deep conversation as they talked with one another, their eyes never leaving the other as Kol cracked jokes to make her laugh. You tapped Caroline's shoulder. She looked over and you mumbled to her, "It's definitely the accent."
"I know, right? There's no way they'd be so attractive otherwise," she replied. Niklaus looked over with mock offense.
"You wound me, love," he said. You both laughed and you turned to see Elijah. You frowned and toyed with the hem of your dress insecurely when you saw him conversing with Hayley across from him. You looked away and picked at your food before picking up conversation Enzo to interrogate him regarding his relationship with Bonnie. She sunk in her seat, shaking her head and rolling her eyes as you and Caroline asked unnecessary questions.
You would try to draw Elijah's attention to yourself, bringing his name into conversations or reaching for his hand (which he took without looking at you). However, his gaze seemed glued to Hayley as he watched her closely. If she was not staring back at him, she was talking with someone else around the table.
At some point, you mumbled in his ear, "Tout va bien?" (Is everything okay?)
He finally looked at you and nodded, putting a smile on her face and kissing your temple, "Tout va bien." (Everything is fine.) You nodded and went to start conversation with him, but his gaze turned back to Hayley.
No matter how many times he assured you that he loved you, it was never too long before your mine began wandering to places of insecurity. There would always be that voice inside of you that told you that his interests may lie elsewhere.
Eventually, you rose to your feet and tapped the side of your glass. "Okay, this is a cliché route to go, but it is Thanksgiving, so I would like to be the first to share what I am personally thankful for."
You originally had no intentions of having everyone suffering through such festivities, but you really needed to get to Elijah and hear it from him. Perhaps it would calm the voice in the back of your mind that was screaming your insecurities out so loud, you could have sworn everyone could hear them.
And perhaps some spotlight on you would draw Elijah's attention back to yours eyes, instead of Hayley's.
The eyes of your friends and guest turned to you, both pleased smiles and with playfully rolled eyes. You glanced down at your side and were pleased yourself when you found Elijah's eyes looking up at you, shining with admiration and love. You were able allow your smile to be more genuine as you calmed knowing Elijah was still with you and had not been lost to the memories of his days with his ex, who sat across the table with eyes that looked up at you in hidden annoyance.
"I have already had quite year, but I'm very thankful to have my old and new friends with me while we go through it together. I am especially grateful for Elijah, who has stuck by my side through it all, despite everything," you looked down at him with a smile. "Je t'aime beaucoup," you mouthed to him.
He mouthed the words back to you, very much intending to say them against your lips soon enough when you were alone.
You sat back down after they gave their tiny applause to you for your share. Kol stood next, a sly smile on his face as he gestured his glass out of to you, "I must say, I am very thankful to our lovely hostess for the guest list she has put together. It allows me to say hello to a very pretty face I have the grandest pleasure of gazing at." His eyes looked down to the girl by his side who giggled slightly, her nose scrunching as she looked down at her hands.
You rolled your eyes and felt Elijah drape an arm around your shoulders. "Such a lovely speech you whipped up. Surely it was not given with the intention of making a certain guest in our home jealous, now was it?"
You turned to him as you whispered back, "Now, Elijah... that would be quite unbecoming of me." He chuckled as he sat back, moving his hand to yours placed upon your lap. He turned his gaze back to the speakers as they went around and volunteered to share their thanks.
He told you quietly and truthfully, "I am far more than thankful for you, my dearest." You blushed and laid your head on his shoulder.
Everyone who wished to participate soon shared their additions to the feast before proceeding with their earlier activities. At one point, Elijah stood from the table and made his way to the kitchen with the intention of replenishing the wine at the table.
Just a moment after he had left, Hayley turned to you, "Where are the bathrooms?" You looked up at her suddenly, surprised she had talked to you, even if it was to ask for the bathroom.
You pointed in the general direction and told her where. She thanked you all too quickly before standing up and leaving. When she was out of earshot, Niklaus commented, "That's strange..."
You turned to him with a raised brow, "What's strange?"
He shrugged a shoulder, "She knows where the bathrooms are. When she and my brother were together, she came over all the time..." He did not say another word about it as he turned his attention to Caroline with a smile before laughing at something Enzo had said and clapping him on the back.
That sneaky little asshole was trying to tempt you, and you knew it. Because of that, you would not fall for his tricks and stayed seated at the table as you made conversation with Damon.
You and he started talking and were able to carry a good conversation before you began to grow anxious about why Elijah was taking so long. Damon looked at you nice and long with that smug look on his face before saying, "I know that look. Go snoop— Take me with you."
You rolled your eyes as you stood, throwing down the napkin in your lap. "I'm not snooping, I'm helping with the wine, I need it. No, you cannot come with." Damon pouted turned to toy with Kol and Davina.
You made your way to the kitchen, peaking your head around the corner to flash Elijah a smile. That smile faltered when you saw Hayley standing in front of your Elijah with her manicured hand on his chest. The smile on her face was all too devious and it made you sick to your stomach. Elijah's eyes were watching her very closely, they were dark and dangerous.
Elijah went to grab her hand but caught a glimpse of you standing around the corner. "Y/N," he said.
You backed away, "Sorry." You turned and made your way down the hall to escape, passing by the table as discreetly as possible. A couple of eyes followed you, but it was not until Elijah was seen walking in the same direction not long after that made more eyes turn.
Hayley stepped around the corner, now seen by the rest of the guests as she leaned against the wall awkwardly. Caroline cracked her knuckles as she and Bonnie turned harsh glares in Hayley's direction.
You stormed down the hall to Elijah's study, biting down on your nail to avoid biting your lip—not that it was better. You left the door open, knowing Elijah would be following you. Opening one of the cabinets in the room, you grabbed a specially designed glass and one of the tall bottles as you poured yourself a glass of Elijah's favorite bourbon.
When the door clicked behind you, you knew Elijah had made his way to you. After taking a swig of the drink, you asked him gently, "Veuillez diriger avec, 'ce n'est pas ce que tu penses'." You turned your gaze to him then. (Please lead with, "it's not what you think".)
His hands fiddled with his ring as he told you, "I would love to, but I fear you would not believe me if I did."
You shrugged, wiping your hands down your face, "J'ai juste besoin que tu jures que c'est autre chose." (I just need you to swear it's something else.)
"That I can do," he said. He approached you but kept distance as he spoke gently and calmly, "I did just go in there to get wine-"
"Tu donnes l'impression que ça sonne mal comme ça," you interrupted, running a hand through your hair. (You make it sound bad like that...)
He closed his eyes and let out a sigh before saying, "English, please."
"Pourquoi?" you asked after taking another sip. (Why?)
"Because I do not wish to speak of such matters in our love language," he said just as gently.
You sighed and nodded. He then continued his explanation, "I went to get wine, and Hayley joined me in the kitchen. When I went to leave, she stopped me and starting 'reminiscing' over our time together. She then started speaking of how she 'wanted me back'. I declined, she spoke bad about you, and I just about to correct her when you walked in."
He then took your hands in his, "I assure you, I would never go back to that wretched woman. She broke my heart. All I want to do, is ensure your heart is never broken the way mine was through her. I want to give you so much more."
He kissed your hands before adding, "I apologize for being distracted, I've just been trying to make sure to keep her away from you today. I did not want her to ruin things, but it seems I've been doing I myself... Forgive me."
You sighed and relaxed, cursing yourself for so easily being swept away by the idea that your precious, noble Elijah would look toward another woman while he was with you. "I'm sorry for doubting you. I just have this little voice in my head that keeps telling me we're too good to be true. Pardonnez-moi." (Forgive me.)
He leaned forward and pressed his lips against your own instead of responding. The way his lips moved against yours told you everything you needed to know as you resealed your confessions to one another. When he pulled back from the kiss, you set your foreheads together.
You took his hand on yours, playing with his ring as you asked gently. "You said she broke your heart... What happened?"
He sighed gently, not wanting to divulge into the past but doing it just for you. He placed a kiss to your forehead before speaking, "We were actually together for a while, she and I... I believed I loved her, and I was beginning to think that maybe we would spend forever together, but that was just high school fantasy."
You snorted, "My high school fantasy seems to be coming true." He chuckled before silencing you with another kiss. His smile soon fell again as he started talking once more, "One day, I went to surprise her at her place for her birthday... and found her making out with a half-wit named Jackson Kenner."
Your heart ached from the way he spoke, the way he was remembering the heartbreak he had gone through just a few years before. "We broke up, and she moved to North Carolina right after we graduated. I went to college here in New Orleans, taught here a while, and then moved to Virginia where I met you. You fixed my heart, my dear."
You leaned in and pressed your lips to his again. "I will never hurt you like that, Elijah," you whispered to him, "I can't. I'd rather die."
He let out a single chuckle and nodded, "I know you won't."

It was your first day at university and Elijah's first day at his new high school. "Are you nervous?" he asked you as you did his tie, fumbling a little with the simple task. You shrugged, "A little. What about you?"
He shrugged, "Not necessarily. You don't need to worry. You are more than capable of getting through this."
You nodded as you straightened his tie, "I know."
He leaned down and kissed you gently. You smiled, standing on your toes as you continued kissing him. He backed you into the wall, lifting your leg as he reached over at the desk you stood next to. You giggled, "'Lijah, you have to go soon." He kissed you gently, disregarding your statement. His hand trailed over the side of your leg, ducking under your skirt as he moved your panties to the side.
You were a little confused when he lined something up with your pussy before pushing something inside that wasn't his fingers. You pulled away and looked at him with a puzzled expression, "What did you just put inside of me?"
He shrugged with one shoulder, "It's for tonight."
You raised a brow, "You couldn't put it in tonight then?"
He kissed you quick, "Don't take it out, or I will have to punish you."
You smirked, "You say that like it will keep me from taking it out..."
He laughed and looked down at his watch. "I would love to fuck you before I leave, but I must be going." He kissed you quickly, "Je t'aime." He left the room after you replied, "Je t'aime aussi."
He headed downstairs, you behind him to see him away. He got in his car, kissing you again before waving goodbye. You waved at him as well and watched as he pulled out of the drive.
You smiled as he went and turned to get back to your room to get your things before heading to your university. Just as you got your the room and grabbed your bag, you instantly dropped it as your mouth fell open, letting out a high pitched moan as vibrations filled your body, the source being the thing Elijah had put in your cunt.
Realization hit you and you groaned, your legs giving out as the vibrations made your whole body buzz in pleasure.
Elijah put a damn vibrator in you, and he had the remote with him. He was going to turn that dam thing on anytime he felt like it.
You grasped the bed frame, hanging your head low as your legs trembled from the buzzing. "Ah, fuck," you gasped, "Fuck you."
Slowly, the vibrations stopped and you breathed in deeply. This was going to be a long day because now you were extremely sexually frustrated.
~
You walked on campus after getting off the bus, looking around as students were huddled in little groups, others walking into the building, others sitting around as they waited for their classes to start. You held your book close to your chest as you breathed out and remembered Elijah's words. "I would love to fuck you before I leave, but I must be going..."
Wait, wrong words.
"You are more than capable of getting through this..."
Yeah, those.
You walked farther on campus, looking down at your schedule to see your first class of the day. You only had two classes today, each of them two hours long. Humanities started in less than half an hour at 10, French started at 2 in the afternoon. You got there early for the sole purpose of hoping to get familiar with your surroundings first... maybe even find a friend here who you could settle in with so your year went smoother.
You stared down at your schedule to figure out which room your first class was in. You then flipped to the map of the school, staring at it with confusion clear in your eyes. Apparently, your confusion was painfully obvious as someone tapped your shoulder hesitantly. You turned suddenly, facing the person who had grabbed your attention.
He waved with a smile, "Hi, are you lost?"
You laughed lightly, "Uh, yeah. It's my first and I have no idea where my first class is."
He shrugged and told you, "No worries. This is my second year, what's your first class?"
You looked down at your schedule again to make sure you didn't mix up the names, "Humanities with Barros."
He nodded, "I can take you there no problem." You tucked your books a little closer, "It's fine, I don't want to bother you."
"It's no problem, really. What other class do you have after that one?"
You answered, "Uh, 2 o'clock French with-"
"Arquette, yeah. We'll have that class together," he smiled at you. You were a little relieved, you wouldn't be alone during the class, at least. You smiled kindly at him, "That would be great, thank you."
"No problem, I'll take you to your first class now," he told you. You shook your head, "That's okay. It's still another ten minutes before the class starts."
He shook his head, "Trust me, with Barros, you wanna get their early. She has this book where she records the names of students who arrive early to her class. Those students are offered better notes and more grace. She'll even give extra credit sometimes to make up for a low grade if you ask. Better use those wisely though, because she only allows three of those. I was one of those students when I took humanities with her."
You thanked him graciously as he walked you to your first class. You were grateful to have someone who would give you the little tips and pointers. Now you knew information that would help you in the long run. As you walked up to the large classroom, you thanked him kindly.
"Don't worry about it. I'm Zach, by the way, Zachary Andrews," he held his hand out for you to shake and you took it with a smile. You introduced yourself just a friendly, "I'm Y/N Y/L/N. Thank you so much for your help, I'll see you later, Zach."
"See you later," he waved as he turned to leave you to go to your class. You walked in the classroom. You were greeted by the professor who gave you a kind smile and chose a seat. Once you were seating, you set your bag on the floor and putting some of your books away while taking others out. Just as you were writing the class name, professor's name, and your name on the front of the notebook, the vibrator started going again inside of you.
You grunted, your permanent marker making a horrid squiggly line off the book as you gripped the edge of your desk. Luckily for you, there were only a couple other people in the class and you weren't sitting close to any of them. Was now really the time for this, Elijah?
Your breath quickened as you couldn't keep yourself from grinding your hips into the seat. You bit your lip so hard you could not taste the blood seeping from the cracks. When you figured the vibrating wasn't going to stop for a while, you sucked in a breath and continued writing one your journal.
You were sure you were soaking wet by the time the class started a couple minutes later. The vibrating had stayed consistently and you were trying to get comfortable. Sweat dribbled on your forehead, trying to bite your tongue to keep yourself from moaning out loud was really doing a number on you.
The professor started speaking. Since it was only the first day, she was going over the rules and regulations of the classroom - which was better for you since you probably wouldn't be able to write down coherent notes if it was an actual lecture. Just as if it couldn't get any worse, the vibrations became more intense as it worked through you. Your whole body buzzed and tingled with pleasure and you tried your best not to stand out to anyone in that room.
The professor began calling role, calling last names and getting their responses scattered across the room. When she called your name, you spoke with the most level voice you could possibly manage. "Present," you almost squeaked as you gripped the edge of your desk harder. She wrote something down on a notepad on her desk and you hoped against hope that she was writing you down for her benefits group.
You were honestly surprised by how well your voice sounded - you were sure you'd instantly blow it if you even opened your mouth. But you were sure you would blow it anyway as you felt yourself beginning to creep up on your orgasm as the buzzing only continued. You were going to get back at Elijah when you got back home...
After a little while of being frustratingly impressed that you hadn't cum yet, the buzzing stopped too suddenly and you were allowed to breathe again. While the vibrating was torturous, you had hoped that it at least slowed to a stop instead of abruptly halting. It caught you off guard and made you even more uncomfortable than before.
You tried to organize your thoughts as you ran a hand through your hair. You glanced down at your skirts and were so relieved that there wasn't a big obvious stain on it from how wet you'd gotten. You breathed in and out slowly as you calmed yourself. Surprisingly you were allowed the rest of the class without Elijah deciding to use that damn vibrator against you. You definitely would have taken it out if Elijah wouldn't have punished you for it. You didn't think you would mind the punishment much until you found out what it was that he put inside of you. It would probably be worse than what he was doing to you right then.
You loved Elijah deeply, but he was a huge pain in your ass.
You collected your things in your bag, standing up as you smoothed your skirt and double checked that it wasn't soaked through. Once you knew you were clear, you walked out of the room after giving the professor a respectful nod.
You walked out of the hall and into the restroom, shutting yourself in a stall. You called his number, tapping your foot in frustration -he was off for lunch right now and you had about half an hour before he started his next class . You were so goddamn horny. To be quite honest, you were just going to beg him to let you at least cum before you he had to go.
He picked up the phone on the first ring. He seemed quite amused as he spoke on the phone, "Bonjour."
"Pour commencer, va te faire foutre," you started. (First of all, go fuck yourself.)
His voice responded, "Je ne suis pas si flexible." (I'm not that flexible.)
You rolled your eyes at his comment, "Vous vous moquez de moi, non?" (You're kidding me, right?)
"Non, mes jambes ne vont pas aussi loin," he continued. (No, my legs don't go that far.)
Your reply was full of sarcasm that had him chuckling, "Tu es très drôle, vous connaissez? Hilarant," (You're very funny, you know that? Hilarious.)
He spoke on his end, "Comment était ton premier cours?" (How was your first class?)
"De nouveau, va te faire foutre." (Again, go fuck yourself.)
"De nouveanu, je ne suis pas si flexible." (Again, I'm not that flexible.)
You sighed heavily, wiping your face with your free hand before flushing as you muttered under your breath, looking down at your shoes which had suddenly become very interesting, "Can I...maybe...cum now...?"
"Je suis désolé, ca c'était quoi?" he asked. (I'm sorry, what was that?)
You grumbled, "Can I cum now, maybe? Please?"
He thought over it for a moment, the sound of a pen tapping heard over the phone. He finally responded after an exaggerated silence, "Non."
"Wha- Why not?" you asked with wide eyes.
"Parce que je l'ai dit." (Because I said so.)
And just like that, the vibrator started going off again, this time at an even higher setting as he truly tortured you. You actually let out a moan just then, not too loud to be heard by anyone who may be outside, but it very slightly echoed off the walls.
You gripped the top of the stalls, your ass jutting out as your whole body buzzed again. "Merde," you cursed under your breath. You almost dropped your phone as you squished it between your ear and shoulder. Elijah listened to your unsteady breaths on the other side, enjoying listening to you squirm because of him. You could just see him smirking as he tormented you with sex.
"Je ne t'aime plus," you managed to gasp out. (I don't like you anymore.)
He laughed, his voice low, "Je t'aime aussi. Je te verrai à la maison. Bonne journée " (I love you too. I will see you at home. Have a good day.) He hung up the phone and the buzzing stopped soon after. You were gasping for breath as you tried to steady yourself, your thigh trembling and threatening to give out under you. That desperate feeling to be fucked curled up and made a home in your stomach. You considered breaking one of your promises and making yourself cum just then when you got a text. You looked at it and groaned when you saw it was from Elijah.
P.S. Ne te touche pas. (Don't touch yourself.)
You sighed heavily, once again straightening yourself out before at least making an attempt to clean up your abundance of wetness before stepping back out on the campus. It was almost twelve-thirty and you needed to eat lunch - even if your sexual frustration was making it harder to focus on actual food.
You were headed out to go find food when you bumped into Zach again. He smiled at you, "Oh, hey. How was your class?"
You did your best to control yourself as you answered him with a smile, "It was good, thanks again."
"Hey, no problem. I'm going to lunch with a couple friends of mine if you wanted to come along. We wouldn't mind another person," he told you.
You thought about it before deciding to accept. It would be good to try a make more friends so you wouldn't have to rely only on Zach. This was your home now, might as well meet more people so you weren't limited to the Mikaelsons - who seemed to know everyone.
"Yeah, sure. I'll come along, I was just headed to lunch anyway," you smiled. His smiled grew at your acceptance and the two of you walked over to a small group of four. He introduced you to his friends, two other girls and boys. They were really nice as you were introduced.
You went to lunch with them, so very grateful that the buzzing hadn't started up again. That was the last thing you needed. Although it wasn't quite fun knowing that Elijah could start doing it again at any given moment either. At least he gave you lunch off - most of it, anyway.
~
You were getting through your second and last class of the day with Zachary and two of his friends, Josh and Davina, you met at lunch sitting next to you. You apparently also had Davina in your first class, but hadn't seen each other. The teacher, like the first one, was going over rules and procedures. You were glad to have made a handful of friends to get you through the first day.
"Is Arquette nice?" you questioned, leaning over to Josh. He and Zachary were both sophomores at the college while you and Davina were freshmen. Josh shrugged, "As long as you respect her. Don't talk during lectures, participate during discussions. Don't be an asshole. She gives what she gets."
You shrugged, you could deal with that. "What other class do you have?" Davina asked you. You looked back at your schedule to see the other course you'd decided to take. "I have Tuesday and Thursday linguistics-"
You closed your mouth tight, breathing slowly as the vibrator went off again. You were going to kill Elijah.
"-Sorry. Stomach ache, I guess. I'm fine. I have linguistics with Verlice," you said, doing your best to ignore the buzzing and the re-growing arousal.
The dismissed it respectfully and Josh made a face. "Ooh, you're going to hate him. Everyone does. He's one of those stereotypical college professors who don't care if you pass."
Zach agreed, "He'll grade you properly, but he will hold everything against you. Just do what you need to do and keep your head down. You don't want to be noticed in his class or he will point you out any chance he gets. Just make the good grades and slide through the class."
Davina muttered, "Glad I don't have him." She glanced at you and quickly apologize genuinely, "Oh, sorry. That sucks."
You nodded a little. Josh spoke, "Don't worry, though. My boyfriend, Aiden, is in that class. You should be fine, he'll help you out."
You smiled at that. More friends to help you.
But this vibrator was driving you crazy.
~
The class ended soon enough and Josh was off to his last class while Davina was headed home like you. Zachary had three classes today, so he'd be leaving you. He walked you to the front of the campus. You tried your hardest not to walk too strangely as you clamped your legs shut to try and limit the arousal dripping down them.
Zach spoke, "How was your first day?"
"It was good, thanks to you," you told him, nudging his arm, "Already have three official new friends. Four tomorrow when I meet Aiden."
He smiled, "I'm glad." He fell silent for a moment before suddenly asking, a little embarrassed, "Do you maybe want to get lunch with me tomorrow. Like...just me?"
You bit your lip, "Like, as a date?"
He nodded a little, letting out a breathy laugh, "Yeah, like a date."
You frowned a little as you walked, "Sorry, um, I'm already dating someone. Otherwise, I would love to."
His shoulders dropped a little, "Oh." It took a moment, but he perked up and said, "That's okay then. I hope we can still be friends, though."
You nodded, "Of course. I would love that."
He smiled, "Cool. Um, I'll see you later?"
You waved at him before he turned around to meet with some of his friends waving him over. You turned back around as you got ready to head back home and saw Elijah's car pulled up with him leaning against it, his hands in his pocket.
You looked at him and let a smile on your face. An accusing smile, but a smile nonetheless. "Hello, mon cher," you greeted him. He held an arm up as you walked over to him. He wrapped it around your neck and brought you in to him, kissing your forehead gently.
"Hello, my love," he greeted back to you, "How was your first day?"
You glared at him as he asked that and he chuckled, walking over and opening your door for him. He got in his side and started the car. "Despite your little stunts - plural!" you glared at him again. He laughed and you continued, "I did have a good day. I made three new friends and three other acquaintances. I have another friend to meet tomorrow during linguistics."
You said it with quite a cocky voice, feeling quite proud of yourself for having overcome his challenge. "I'm glad," he said, the corner of his lip quirking up into a smirk, "Is that who that other boy was?"
You glanced at him and nodded, "That was Zachary. He's my first friend here. I also met a couple of his friends, Davina and Joshua."
"Davina Claire?" he asked you curiously. You nodded, "Yeah, you know her?"
He nodded as well, "One of Marcel's friends. He basically took her in a couple years ago. They're practically family. I recognize Joshua as well. But who is this Zach?"
He eyed you a little, as if testing you. You told him, "I just said. He's my first friend here. He asked me on a date just then but I turned him down. You've got nothing to worry about, 'Lijah."
He hummed, "Why would I worry?"
"Because you're jealous."
He turned his gaze to you instantly, "I am not jealous."
You chuckled lightly, "Whatever you say, my love."
He shook his head with a smile. He repeated under his breath, "I am not jealous." You giggled a little as he drove the two of you back home. You finally spoke after another moment of silence, "Can you please take this thing out of me now?"
He laughed and told you simply, "No. I did say it's for tonight, didn't I?"
"Apparently not exclusively in the safety of our home if you tortured me with it all day." He laughed again, sighing contently. Our home. He liked the sound of that.
He grabbed one of your hands with a free one and rubbed the back of it with his thumb, "Trust me, darling. Tonight will make up for it."
You shook your head, "It better." Your tone was supposed to be threatening, but it lost its edge when you slowly smiled happily at him. God, he was too good.
