Auggie is about to get his big surgery, so wish him luck! Turns out his rescuer gave him a name, and we love it. But I'm also pretending it's short for Augbert. That wound I mentioned in the last post about him is his front right paw, and it is soooo bad. I suspect a case of sore hocks (pododermatitis) just kept going until it ate most of his foot... Anyway, he's getting an amputation to free him of the infection and the pain. He also has some underdeveloped muscles along with skin that was injured by the matting of his wooly fur, so he'll be getting some physical therapy for all the tripod hopping he'll need to be doing after.
