Shelby Knighten, English teacher at Ocean Springs High School, is the real deal. I am honored to call him a friend and a brother-in-education. His honors thesis tackles a question that haunts education programs across the country, “What is English Education?”
Jenna Smiley, English teacher at Yazoo County High School, was born to teach. Jenna’s honors thesis is an excellent entry into the discourse surrounding diverse literature in the classroom. Thankful for Jenna and her continued work for Mississippi.

So this morning, I got up and my first thoughts, for some reason, drifted to teaching. And for some reason, I started reconsidering wanting to be a teacher. As if I was just gonna change career paths at this point (which wouldn't be difficult as an English major, but I digress). Anyway, then three different things happened to me that made me tear up at the thought of teaching. But good tears. And now I feel like someone sent me a little sign and things are ok.
