So today was my first day of teaching at #CSP in #AACPS - I'm positive and encouraged for the year (at Chesapeake Science Point)

So all details have been officially finalized that I can make an exciting announcement! I have landed a teaching job in Anne Arundel County Public Schools in Maryland! I will be teaching 8th grade English at Chesapeake Science Point Public Charter School. I'm super excited for this next chapter in my life! #iupcongrats #iup17 Hard to believe that after five years that I'm done... and what a time it's been. I'm graduating cum laude (just short of magna cum laude) from the university and honors college, I'm a dual baccalaureate with a B.S.Ed. in English Education and B.A. Music. I've been inducted into three different honor societies (Phi Eta Sigma, Kappa Delta Pi, and National Society for Leadership and Success), chosen to be among the elite as an IUP Ambassador, served as an elected leader of four organizations, I have studied abroad to the United Kingdom, twice, presented at numerous conferences all over the country, and I have various of opportunities lined up for me to consider with more opportunities to come. I'm excited for the future and curious to keep exploring the world. The reality of this all still hasn't hit me; it all seems surreal. So excited for students at Indiana Junior High School. Tonight is opening night of their musical "The Nifty Fifties." It has been a pleasure getting to work with these talented students in preparation for this show. Had the opportunity today to volunteer for the #FBLA region competition. I never had an opportunity to be apart of this organization in high school, but it's a very unique organization/ activity for high schoolers to do #education #leader #volunteer #competition #business (at Indiana University of Pennsylvania)

Creative problem solving - I was struggling to find a place to put all the books from my professor, Dr. Kerr to one day start a future classroom library, then I found a wonderful place to put them that displays them and makes them quite beautiful #library #books #yalit #futureclassroomlibrary #education #teaching #winter #vintage

As of last week, my classes started, and my summer came to an end. I've had a wonderful summer filled with many traveling adventures. I first travelled out west on a Wild West Road Trip. I travelled out to El Paso, TX>Phoenix, AZ>Las Vegas, NV>Palm Springs, CA>Los Angeles, CA>San Francisco, CA. Then I spent three wonderful weeks getting to study abroad to England. I studied Young Adult Literature by British Authors. I enjoy traveling and getting to see more of our diverse, magical world :) #travel #summer #world

I read 10 L on the sales tag as a size 10 pants and a size XL on the hanger. A mistake that couldn't be returned because of the item being on clearance. I realized if I wear the pants up high with a belt it fits fine. Today going through clothes I realized that my size 8 faded glory jeans were not much smaller from the accidental larger size pants I bought on clearance - not much more than an inch or two. Don't get me wrong I believe people should be in healthy shape and live healthy life styles, but in society why do we put so much emphasis on women's clothes sizes? There's really not much difference between sizes. It's body shaming at its best the way women's clothes are sized. Men's clothing to both myself and my boyfriend has less shame: sized in inches - nobody cares. So you're probably wondering what's the size on the khaki pants? 18W - Columbia  That's 5 sizes difference.
