"So, Rudo, today you are going to meet someone's reaaaly special~" Enjin directs his new pupil to the upper floors of the HQ, on an almost endless flight of stairs that made the vein in Rudo's test to highlight.
"Are you kidding me? We've been climbing the stairs for hours!"
"Huh!? We're only on the third floor!! Her office is on the top floor to not disturb the other members, you know?"
"But why on earth are we going to meet this woman?" Rudo was curious; it had been almost four days since he landed on the surface, and he still didn't know a third of what this new world was like.
"She's going to be your new teacher."
"WHAT? ANOTHER ONE!? ISN'T ZANKA ENOUGH!?"
"Easy boy! She's not going to be that kind of teacher, she's not going to teach you how to throw trash around there." They stopped so Enjin could look at Rudo with that serious look of his, which, in particular, did not suit Enjin's nature.
"So, what kind of teacher is she?"
"I don't know! I don't understand a third of what she says to the others, she almost speaks another language, it really irritates me." Enjin quickly back to his usual silly facial expression.
"So, why...?"
"Because she has this damn policy here with the younger cleaners, that children have to learn these things." With each word Enjin says, Rudo becomes even more confused. So, is he going to school?
Schools in Sphere were only for the rich ones; the few poor students who managed to get in had to be exceptionally intelligent just to pass the entrance exam.
Despite never having gone to school, he prided himself on knowing the basics of writing and mathematics. (Regto's Work)
But what else was there to learn?
They finally stopped in front of a wooden door with a sign that clearly read, "Do not enter, Cerberus is hungry." and a stupid draw of a dog with three heads.
Enjin paused before opening the doorknob, observing Rudo's curious and anxious state; it was always the same reaction when other people see the sign.
"Do not worry about that, this sign is just to scare strangers, but she is a sweet person." Enjin had a strange smile on his face, making Rudo raise an eyebrow in confusion and distrust.
Enjin slowly opens the door, only to be greeted by an expanse room. It was a circular, with dim lighting, the floor was covered by scribbled papers and instead of stained white walls, white chalkboards covered the walls.
Rudo was shocked. (Enjin too)
"No way! There's even more than last time!" Enjin was almost beaming with excitement at what he saw; there were several formulas and calculations on the board and on the floor, scribbles of engineering prototypes.
"W-What is that!?" Rudo jumps back when a crow appears and almost hits him with its beak. But it wasn't a normal crow, but one that had a metal part on its side. "Is this metal?!"
Whoever that teacher is, they're extremely strange.
"Wait, Raven No. 3!" A figure flashes past Rudo in the blink of an eye, only to grab the crow, pet it, and return to the shadows from whence you came.
Just to stop in the middle and look at the two men there with a disgusted and frightening expression.
"What the hell are you two doing here?! Didn't you see the damn sign?! "Do not enter!" It's not that difficult! Why can't anyone follow a simple sign?!" In an irritated manner, you dropped the crow and started gesturing wildly.
"Huh!? Why are you shouting!? And we're not blind enough not to see the sign, it's just that it's incredibly stupid!"
"Huh!? Who do you think you are to talk about my signs, you idiot!? Do you know how long it took me to find a word whose meaning nobody knows?!"
"Huh!? Who the hell you're calling idiot?! Your crazy woman!"
"Huh-"
"Alright! Both of you, stop with the "Huh"!" You and Rudo felt a warm hand on your heads and both looked at Enjin, who was standing between you and Rudo, staring at you with a mocking expression.
"You two are being dramatic." Enjin removed his hands, put his arm around your shoulder, and rubbed his cheek against yours. "Sweetie, I just came to introduce you to the new cleaner, you didn't need to yell at me like that, it makes me sad!"
"Enjin? But you—? Oh, forget it, you idiot! I told you a thousand times to let me know before you showed up here! And don't call me 'sweetie'!" You pushed his face away and glared at him with fake anger.
"Oh c'mon, you know how much I hate the process of doing that, and I can reward you." With a big smile, Enjin pointed at Rudo, who had a closed expression on his face. "I present to you your new student, Rudo!"
Your jaw dropped.
"W-Wait, are you Rudo? 'The' Rudo, n-no way, I can't believe it! How old are you?"
"Fifteen"
"Oh." You sighed.
"I've been fighting with a kid this whole time...?" Your voice trembled slightly, your eyes filled with deep sadness, and then you brought your hands to your face as if indignant with yourself.
"I can't believe I fought with a child! How embarrassing! How embarrassing!! How embarrassing!!" You shook your head in sheer embarrassment before slapping your hands against your face.
"I'm sorry. I'm really sorry! I was such an irresponsible and immature adult, and you were going to be my student, oh no, you were going to be my student! And now I've lost him, oh, you were going to learn so many cool things..." You placed your hands on Rudo's shoulders before sighing sadly. "I understand if you don't want to be my student anymore."
According to Rudo, you were an extremely unbalanced woman.
Out of nowhere you were yelling at him for insulting the stupid sign, and now you were apologizing for yelling at him. All this in less than 10 minutes.
But he could also see the sadness in her eyes; it seemed that losing a potential student broke her heart. Even Enjin, who was trying not to laugh at the situation, had a sad expression.
And also, you don't mention the fact that he is a celestial. Like, never. That was usually the first thing they said, but you never mentioned that he was a celestial. Did you want him as a student just because he were a child...?
Regto once told him not to label other people, because they are always more than they seem. Perhaps you have this knowledge as well.
"Fine, I forgive you, and I'm sorry for insulting your sign too; it wasn't that bad, you know? And I still don't know what the heck you're going to teach me!" Rudo blushed slightly when he saw the clear change in your face; you were definitely happier.
"Ah, Enjin didn't tell you what I do around here? Looks like you'll have to find out!" You give a mischievous smile before a piece of paper appears in his hand out of nowhere and he hands it to Rudo. "You start on Monday, 11am. Don't be late!"
The paper contained a schedule for his classes: "Monday and Wednesday, at 11am!♡"
"Ow, I think you two have resolved your differences, right?" Enjin glanced at the contents of the paper and gave a small smile to both of you.
"I think we just didn't start off very well, but now we're going to get along really well!" You laughed triumphantly before Enjin joined you in the laughter.
"That's the spirit!"
"These two are crazy" Rudo thought wisely.
"Well, now that everything is explained and clear I'll walk you to the door, Rudo." Enjin placed his hand on the shorter boy's shoulder, leading him out of the room, only to leave Rudo outside and then go back inside, leaning against the doorframe with a mischievous grin.
"I have to say a few words to the teacher, so go practice with Zanka or whatever, bye-bye~" The door slammed in Rudo's face.
Jerk
"I heard you!"
...
Enjin sighed and turned all his attention to you, who were already at the board, having finished some calculations. Not a second had passed and your attention was already elsewhere.
"So, what did you think of the kid?"
"He's a good kid, he has a good personality, he speaks his mind and has this whole brave air about him, but he's a sweetheart. It has potential."
You were lying on your back, writing calculations when you felt two long arms wrap around you; automatically, you felt an unusual warmth in your soul. This almost made you drop the chalk on the floor because of the overwhelming feeling of heat that Enjin always gave you.
"I really need to write a thesis about this." He rested his chin on your shoulder, just to feel Enjin's breath on your neck and relaxing against him.
"About what?" He purred, took one of your hands, and played with your fingers, waiting for a response.
"How people like you makes me feel this."
"People like me...?"
"Yeah, people I love so much that I question my sanity when I'm with them. Enjin, I think you're the only one who makes me feel that warm, comforting feeling in my heart. And I hate how this happens, I hate that I can't concentrate on anything when I'm with you. I literally just forgot what we were talking about. I think that would be an interesting thesis."
Enjin let go of his hand.
He blushed deeply and almost laughed nervously at your words, while burying his face in your neck. Something he admired about you was that you had absolutely no problem saying what you felt, from pure hatred to pure love, it didn't matter, you always spoke what is through your mind.
To the point of declaring love for the person you truly loved.
This always made Enjin wonder what he had done to deserve you. You, the smartest, prettiest, and most quirky girl he knows, are definitely his best girl.
"I think that's a good idea, dear. But make sure you don't show this thesis to anyone but me, okay?"
"W-Why?"
"They will mistake your thesis for a letter from a loving wife to her courageous and brave husband."
"Are you calling yourself as brave and courageous...?"
"Hum. No?" Enjin felt your laughter and your arms around his neck, returning Enjin's hug and a kiss that smacked his cheek, which caused a small electric current to run through his body before the current concentrated on your lips on his cheek.
"What're we going to do now?" You whispered in Enjin's ear, sending shivers down his spine.
"Do you want to eat?" He whispered back and saw her expression turn into something cute.
"Finally you asked! Shall we eat at that restaurant we went to last month?"
Definitely! The whiskey from that place has a different flavor than others."
"Ah! "I know why!" you exclaimed as if you were in an imaginary classroom.
"And why?"
"They put a pinch of sodium chloride and sucrose in your drink, and the mixture of these two creates a gradient of contrast, this constant itself also goes against the exotic flavor of whiskey, and that makes it--!!" You hadn't even finished speaking before feeling Enjin's lips against yours in a slow, calm kiss, his full lips moving against yours like another of your dances to soft music.
His hands tightened around your waist, minimizing the distance between them, and your hands eventually rested on his chest, covered by tattoos.
You parted, a thin strand of saliva connecting your lips and a mischievous smile on Enjin's face before he intertwined his hands in your cheeks, stroking with the thumb.
"Now, go get even prettier for me because I'm picking you up at 9 pm, okay?" Still flustered, you gave Enjin a quick peck on the lips and ran out of your own space, but not before receiving a playful slap on the behind and some pure teasing.
"This jerk." You whispered as you left your beloved space.
"I heard you, sweetie!"
