kurozu501 said: ahaha i do think that would make team tohsaka way too overpowered tho considering they’d have archer, assassin, AND caster, but it would be interesting to see it play out. especially if the gil/kirei betrayal and tokiomi’s death still happen, how do aoi and gwen deal with that?
You say as if Tokiomi would want anything less than being annoyingly OP :P
I’m thinking too hard about all this now and it could dramatically alter the story (or at least, you’d hope it would, given that such a simple yet large element is being changed). I like the idea that Aoi receives a Command Seal and goes along with it almost in the same fashion Kirei does, under Tokiomi’s wing, assuring everyone she has no wish of her own but is merely doing it to help her husband. To reach the Holy Grail is the Tohsaka goal, of course, and her role for so long now has been to aid the Tohsaka family--she has literally not been afforded any other lifestyle in the mage world. She’s quite shocked when the Grail chooses her, because what can she offer? Aoi’s only skills as a mage beyond absolute basics are hidden in her genetics; her gift is that her children will be powerful. Aoi has never been powerful before. I imagine it would throw her into a bit of an emotional and philosophical tailspin.
And then once she summons Gwen, and they form Tokiomi’s Trio, and sees what she can do and sees what Gwen can do as a Caster, Aoi’s Caster, maybe that perspective of herself changes? I like to think that Gwen and Aoi would be one of the pairs that actually gets along at least a little bit, as opposed to Tokiomi who is off in the corner trying to get his Servant to listen to him. With a Servant on her side, Aoi would be more front and centre and thus of more interest to Kirei, and would quite possibly factor into his Dastardly Schemes in different ways. Would his Dastardly Schemes work, with a Caster to protect and inform her? Would Aoi end up as more, or less, of an object and an asset given that she has this new friend and this newfound power?
I don’t think they’d get through the War, but honestly, this changeup brings up the idea that maybe, just maybe, Aoi can tragically die for reasons other than bringing manpain and suffering to those around her.
ALTERNATIVELY: Both Lancelot and Saber still really love Gwen. Gwen teams up with them, bringing Aoi along, whipping Kariya’s useless shit into shape and creating a different Power Trio. The Arthurian love triangle sorts their stuff out. There are so many ladies. Tokiomi is confused and probably even more dead.
Though that brings up the question of how Gwen would actually interact with the other Arthurians--eg her husband Saber--because I feel like that would majorly affect where the story went and what Aoi took away from it... there are endless possibilities
If he dies here, he dies
@enjinsosei channeling his inner Shirou while explaning an encounter in Dark Souls 3
@enjinsosei replied to your post “Exactly why is ‘female Shirou” aka Ayaka Sajyou, the female protag who...”
Gee it was almost like fate prototype was unfinished and never released for a reason. You are seriously complaining about a character who Nasu wrote in HIGH SCHOOL that we only even know anything about because of fan demand.
I am aware Prototype came first and that Nasu improved between point A and B. However, he changed up the formula of male vs female protag and love interest because he felt the other would sell better, not because he wanted a different kind of protagonist entirely. I will easily forgive most of the wonky plot because it’s just a rough draft.
What I’m not okay with is that Ayaka and Shirou have no resemblance to one another. All that’s the same is that they’re mild mannered trouble magnets. It looks suspiciously a lot like when Nasu set out to rewrite the main character as a male, he wrote an entirely different one just because he’s male. Most of the other transplanted characters (those who weren’t amalgams and whatnot) remain very similar to their originals (with Gil having the hots for femSaber instead and Saber still having a distressing habit of getting stolen) it’s only Ayaka and Shirou that I notice an extreme difference between. It’s also telling that Shrou is pretty much “Stock male shounen protagonist with added layers” and Ayaka is “Stock female otome protagonist with added layers”
i’ve been playing DS3 with @enjinsosei and swear i’ve lost tracks of how many times i’ve said “that sounds like a euphenism for something” in response to him discussing weapons and tactics xD

I recall her thinking herself the mother of all British Servants, so maybe an additional buff to Servants from Britannia instead of the Female Servants buff you suggested would be appropriate?
I READ SOMETHING ALONG THE LINES BUT I COULDN’T RECALL.
That’s it servants from Britannia get a further buff from it!

I headcanon that Archer died when he was 30. Because that means that he died in 2016 and I enjoy suffering.
see, while i appreciate that, i kind of really like the idea that archer outlived kiritsugu and died just a bit past 34. Because that means archer really did surpass kerry in every way including “how long you can keep up the hero lifestyle before destroying yourself”

Honestly p much every Nasuverse girl should be taller xD
Still waiting for the height buff update, Nasu
