01 : create the scene where lily finds out that the marauders (or just james) are animagi.
looking back at it now, lily really shouldn’t have been surprised. she certainly hadn’t been when the realization that remus had a slightly furrier problem than normal hit her; yet, three more similar problems seemed excessive to her. still, it made sense. they were the marauders, a group of four loving, caring, stubborn, loyal, dedicated friends.
so of course they would just take it upon themselves to learn the art of contorting and spelling their bodies into animals for the sake of their furry friend. at least they had taken it well- they were intelligent and now they were all grand animals, all noble and ready to play and serve the wolf.
mind you, these thoughts were normal considering the way she’d finally found it. no, james did not sit her down for a talk; and no, remus did not finally confess their secrets; and no, of course no, the whole group did not sit down with her and just gently break it over tea.
no, that didnt happen at all.
lily had just been searching around for a sweater, when she realized james, who was her b o y f r i e n d now, had much warmer and larger sweaters. and so she’d clambered up the stairs and went into the dorm room only to be met with a very shocked deer, a sleeping rat on the said deer, and a hula hooping dog. remus sat in the midst of all this, quietly reading. she’d blinked her eyes, once, then twice, hoping for this to be a dream. not so lucky. three pops later, the marauders (all human this time) sat around her to finally explain to her their tale of mandrake leaves, bright storms, and exquisite potions.
well. at least it was an interesting tale. and they hadn’t killed themselves thank gods. all in all, lily concluded that this wasn’t the worst they could have done. (it was rather brilliant but they would never hear that from her.)
