Why I like them
Because he's such a badass, that's why. He knows what he wants and he goes for it. And even under the darkness there's one lingering streak of humanity, as if Forte's inner depths remember what it was like to be loved and to be somebody, and so he hangs onto it.
Why I don't
He's a big fat annoying pain in the ass.
Mature, aren't I
Really though, he's just... so SINGLE-MINDED. Forte is stuck in a rut, and I think part of him enjoys being stuck in a rut. Maybe he's even scared on some subconscious level, scared of what would happen if he tried to change. And it can make his character really tiring, really fast.
Favorite episode
...Manga chapters count as episodes, right? Because I'd have to point out any of the side stories, whether the one that went into his background, or the one of Forte Cross beating the world-ending virus, or the one where he sees Dr. Cossack again. They really show a different side to Forte, one most people don't get to see, and they help round him out really well.

I actually don't really have one. I can appreciate pairings for Forte (hi Serenade) but in the end, I don't even know that he'd get himself in one.

Headcanon
He has EXCELLENT hearing, because the helmet fins work as a parabolic reflector, funneling sound waves down to his ears. However this gives him a HUUUGE blindspot directly behind him, which is part of why he has a barrier in the cloak, to prevent against sudden ranged back attacks.
Unpopular opinion
He's not the hardcore, don't-give-a-fuck badass everyone makes him out to be. Like I mentioned above I think he's just... scared.
