I don’t know who needs to hear this, but as an enneagram Nine, I’ve stopped referring to myself as “lazy.” Because I’m not. . . . But I do have trouble discerning my own priorities, so I tend to get very busy with things that seem to matter to other people. But I can be “slothful” in the areas of my own growth and desires (because I don’t always take the time to figure out what those are).
And if you are a Nine and you feel yourself running in circles trying to prove you aren’t “lazy,” maybe that’s not your problem either. Maybe your direction of growth and courage is not about “working harder,” but “working in the right direction.” And maybe that’s scary because it’s not always going to be in tandem with other people’s goals. Maybe you’ve been avoiding this because it stirs up some conflict inside yourself.
