Now I remember why I could eat a horse and I almost collapsed most of the time when I took statistics at community college... I did the definitional formula once for the first time in years and I'm about to hibernate. I'm taking 3 other psychology classes too lol
The guy in the SPSS tutorial videos plays dramatic (but good dramatic) music and when he had us click "explore" for a data set he said "let's go beyond the default and click outliers. And add a histogram. We are REALLY going all out" and I'm going between this and rewatching Jaime French's reviews for Passion Play and Anyone But You

3 pm: god, I'm EXHAUSTED. going to bed early for SURE.
midnight: I Have Literally Never Been More Awake And Alert
The intimacy of staring at each other while everyone else is talking

We're in the fascist tradwife, stay-at-home girlfriend, revoked abortion access apocalypse, and people who otherwise are sensible still refuse to admit that most likely means an exacerbated violent hatred for women who just point blank will not voluntarily partner up with a man.
trying to not notice incel terminology becoming mainstream and slipping into everything, for my own sanity
i am so sickkkkkkkk of people seeing misogyny perpetuated by a man and automatically going "well SOMEONE'S closeted" omfg you know that men hate women even when theyre attracted to them right??? why are you more interested in making fun of gay people than hating misogynists. you fucking freak
At this point I don't even see much so-called attraction going on
Stars in full bloom.
ohhh my god I just fact-checked, Nolan actually DID cut the "Nobody" scene from his Odyssey movie. Mfer that is like cutting the Father reveal from Star Wars. Let me speak in a language you understand this is like not dressing Batman up in his suit. "It was not possible to work it in" the TikTok musical with a budget of $4 and a scratched Hamilton CD managed to work it in in SONG form, step up your FUCKING GAME
Cyclops looks too much like Bane and so he felt too sorry for it
and if i said nolan's odyssey starring no greek actors and with no recognizable aspects of greek culture or involvement by greeks, is the direct legacy of white supremacist colonialism that treated ancient greece as not just the pinnacle of ancient culture, but of an artificially created "european" culture, which white western europeans and their settler descendants, as the new pinnacle of culture, were the sole spiritual inheritors of.
I'm not the woke type and honestly can't even really understand this post yet and I don't care about The Odyssey but I'd have seen it if the cast was all Greek. It's not my favorite isolate language but I love the people, they're so moody and funny and virile
nolan’s odyssey is such a textbook study on the idiocy and dangers of presentism. yes of course penelope is a modern day feminist who wants to rule ithaca by herself. they make telemachus say that GREECE IS THE GREATEST CIVILIZATION IN THE WORLD as if the entire point of the massing of achaeans at troy for one unified cause isn’t spectacular precisely because THERE IS NO CONCEPT OF A UNIFIED GREECE NATIONS DO NOT EXISTTTTTT YETTTTT. literally 101 on historical writing is making sure that you’re avoiding strict periodization because the people living in a “period” will not identify themselves that way. ever. five million cheeky nods to “the sea peoples” but we’re being cute and coy and calling them “the people from the sea.” the obsession with xenia but refusal to call it xenia yes let’s say “zeus’s law” a hundred times and reduce it to the literal expectation that any stranger could be a god in disguise. how was penelope just hanging out in the main hall of the palace with her husband’s dinner guests while they were playing with weapons with her HAIR COMPLETELY DOWN no veil no nothing just chilling casually. comical. stoppppp making movies that engage in historical viewpoints if you’re going to slather a modernized coat of paint over the top. “the past is a foreign country, they do things differently there.” or fucking whatever.
I don't mind that when I know the filmmaker wants to say something but since when does Christopher Nolan care about women... he named the ex wife "bad" in French in his most famous movie, idg why he of all people chose to go woke
i actually think it's scary that we seem to be forgetting what regular human beings look like and that in some cases it's being deliberately accelerated by incels and their esoteric mythology of appearance now that they have the cultural microphone. it's scary that i can watch a movie from like 1991 and be like "oh if this woman was cast as a leading lady today it'd be a culture war outrage session about ugly women being shoved in our faces"
I saw a YouTube short recently of "actresses with non (filtered? Photoshop? Whatever the kids say) faces" I guess basically as if to say "mid and brave about it" and one of them was NATALIE PORTMAN. I felt like I was going to lose my mind
