can u explain bendy and the ink machine? i'm scared of jumpscares and such so i'm hesitant to look it up and watch it and i can't find anything good explaining it in words
aaaah ok!!! ill do my best!! as for jumpscares, well, there r a lot of occasions in the first chapter (we only have one chapter so far!!) in which cardboard cutouts of bendy kinda ‘jump up’ as a kind os scare chord plays, i think for the first chapter it relies a lot more on the music n ambience 2 be creepy. it does have a definite jumpscare at the end of it, when the machine gets turned on n a goopy bendy forms n the lights start flickering n some rly intense music plays
as for story, well, it goes like this: the main character, henry, gets a letter from his old partner in animation, joey drew, after 30 years of them being apart. the letter tells him 2 go visit the old studio n so he does. as he gets in, the place is, well, in shambles, its covered in ink, there r ominous writings on the walls (’dreams come true’, ‘whos laughing now?’ n ‘the creator lied to us’ respectively) n theres even a room in which one of their old characters, boris the wolf, is strapped 2 a table, looking very dead n w his guts out. their other character, their main character, bendy, keeps appearing in the form of cardboard cutouts everywhere, frightening henry quite a bit.
theres a recording of a coworker venting: “at this point, i dont get what joey’s planning to this company. the animations sure aren’t gettin’ finished on time, and i certainly don’t see why we need this... machine. it’s noisy and who needs that much ink anyway? also, get this: joey had each of us donate something from our work stations, keeps them in these little pedestals. ‘to help appease the gods’ he said ‘keep things going’. i’d say he lost his mind. but hey, he writes the paychecks.” which gives us quite a bit of in-tell.
n so, henry goes around collecting said donated items n putting them in the pedestals, only then he can turn on the machine. once he does, though, a very sinister looking figure resembling bendy pops up in the ink machine room, which has now been boarded up by some mysterious force, n the studio starts getting flooded. as henry bolts for the exit, he falls through the floor in2 an underground passage, arms himself w an axe n starts clearing a path thats also been boarded up. just as he does, he finds a room w a pentagram drawn on the floor, looking very much like a summoning circle. n the chapter ends there.
i think thats all we know so far!! if anyone else thinks im forgetting something ur welcome 2 tell me!! id say its a pretty ok game 2 watch ppl play if u know 2 just keep away from looking at it all the time, multi task, keep it in another tab, n rly, all u gotta watch out for is what happens once the machine gets turned on. dont worry, i also hate jumpscares!!!
