endless beginnings | annie & enoch
[Annie’s pretty sure she’s had more therapists than the average twenty three year old, and first sessions never really get easier. Therapists are easier than new people her own age, because Annie always tended towards older people; that’s a result of spending most of her high school lunches sitting in classrooms to avoid bullies. A topic on which therapists have commented before.
It also helped that she had a bit of a ‘session zero’, asking Dr. Lynch all the questions she needed answered. She’s not as worried about walking into the unknown now. But it is still scary, in the way that any new situation is scary. She’d actually considered cancelling at the last minute, but if she did that then she’d not have a therapist, since she’s already cancelled her last one, and she really does need a therapist.
The door is open, but Annie still can’t bring herself to just… go in. Maybe she was a vampire in a previous life. She always needs to be invited. Tapping with quiet knuckles on the open door, she stands awkwardly in the doorframe.]
