So here’s the lines for @enogitna but don’t worry I’ll do it in color too and actually I’m coloring it right now, I’ll try to do it faster than lines cause it took me too much time O.o
Haruka OR Michiru, Usagi vs Minako, Luna + Artemis
1. Haruka or Michiru
HOW DARE YOU PIT THE HOLY GRAIL OF OTP AGAINST EACH OTHER.
Anyway, see my previous post of me singing the praises of one of my many favorite gay waterbenders. I love Haruka so (like many young girls she was certainly an AWAKENING to me), precious dorky butch who tries so so hard to be tough yet all her bluster cannot hide how she wears her heart on her sleeve, but Michiru, I just gotta give it to her. I love characters you gotta DIG a bit for.
And she’s a GAY WATERBENDER.
Really the fact that Michiru was the first figuart that I purchased says it all I think.
2. Usagi vs. Minako
HMMMM.
WELP, if we are adhering strictly to canon, and going by who is ‘more powerful’ then yeah, obviously it’s going to be Usagi, she of the ALMIGHTY MCGUFFIN TRUMP CARD OF THE SILVER CRYSTAL, THAT CAN DO WHATEVER WE DECIDE IT CAN FOR THIS ARC.
But if we remove the Protagonist Always Wins factor, then yeah, Minako’s wiping the floor with Usagi.
Basically, in the world of a magical girl anime/manga, where the strength of your emotions/purity/love/friendship/insert cheesy value here is what determines what will win the day then duh, it’s Usagi. But in terms of actual fighting prowess re: strength, agility, tactics, strategy, precision, Minako’s got Usagi beat in literally every arena. After all, Usagi even being Sailor Moon was more of an accident than anything, really. “The Princess” was never supposed to be a soldier, she was supposed to be protected, to serve as the inspiration for all others. Not only does Minako have the soul/memories/what have you of an actual seasoned war commander in her, she also fought ALONE for at least a year before everyone else even awoke and she’s still standing.
Plus the whip.
BUT WHY ARE THEY EVEN FIGHTING IN THE FIRST PLACE. I KNOW YOU AGREE WITH ME THAT THEY SHOULD BE KISSING INSTEAD.
3. Luna + Artemis
Ehhhhhh. I’m really lukewarm at best to the concept of Luna/Artemis. I only “ship” them in recognizing that it’s canonical that at some point they did something to produce Diana and that’s about it. For one thing, the whole idea of the ship reeks of contrivance rather than actual attraction (as the only two surviving Moon Cats as far as we know then “of course” they will end up “together”). And then really no canon version of Sailor Moon has ever really sold me on it. They get the most characterization in the anime and there I have NEVER bought that Luna regards Artemis as a true romantic partner. At most she uses him to feel better about herself (see the end of the S movie a.k.a. 65 MINUTES OF CAT-CRUSHING-ON-HUMAN ACTION). A combination of Artemis not really seeming to ever GET THE HINT and Luna sometimes actively playing with his feelings makes them seem to me like any relationship between them would not be playing out on healthy, even ground.
THANKS FOR MAKING ME SPEND A PARAGRAPH TALKING ABOUT A SHIP BETWEEN FREAKING MOON CATS.
First line (for anything you want - just feel like playing the game!): It was all over the evening news.
It was all over the evening news. Sailor Senshi defeat monster rampaging in Shibuya district; eyewitnesses report dazzling attacks, monster vaporizing into dust. There was even footage – five silhouettes, a wave, gloved fingers splitting into a V – and then nothing, as they leaped into the darkness.
Usagi’s mother didn’t say a word as her daughter came home late and headed straight upstairs for bed. But she did breathe a little easier once the front door closed. And she did, then, offer up a little prayer of thanks to the heavens.

I like how cheerfully resigned you look like “this is fine”
the cheerful resignation is very quickly fading though, as I am in need of rest and water and yet I am still sweating my ass off here.

enogitna said: “Usagi’s main issue is people think her hobbies are frivolous, rather than her just being bad at everything she tries ” oh god yes exactly ;_;
The more I think about it, it explains why Usagi can be so down on herself when she’s talking up her friends. I think Usagi has unintentionally been hella discouraged from things, and might even deliberately indulge in hobbies she knows people will leave her alone in.
Rei is a miko and that makes her a responsible girl, Makoto is selfsufficent and domestic (implicitly a good ‘wife’), Ami is super smart and thus respectable, and even Minako is ambitious and, especially within the context of the main cast, the glamorous one as well as even being the hero Usagi idolizes. They’re into useful things for respectable girls. You could even go some interested places with Usagi and the gamer subculture being mostly dudebro aligned
Usagi’s big things are, in OG terms, games comics and art (which we’ve seen is pretty servicable) the later enough to tempt her to join her school’s manga club versus her show version which wasnt interested in any club, implictly cause she’s ~lazy~. The fact no other character is into those things -- the idea Rei is also big into manga or that Michiru’s cast trope is painting were show inventions -- has always made me wonder why these traits arent more heavily featured in fanwork, since they’d be pretty unique.

Not my favourite season, but also not my least favourite. The breakup hurt my heart!
