Varian was meant to arrive last night. They’d carefully arranged a meeting at the cave, ensuring Varian could get the time off - long enough for the weekend - and then Varian had confirmed he set off, telling him he couldn’t wait to see him.
He never had.
It was mid-morning Saturday now, and there was simply no sign of the King. His communication devices rang out; his mirror went unanswered. There were no tracks nearby.
It was as if he’d simply vanished.
