It's On
Less than a month to go until I fly into Berlin and we begin my visa application to stay with my German Husband. We'll have been apart for 70 days. I have only two worries:
The new entry-exit system is proving to cause delays and I have no idea which airport I will be doing it at: Munich (where I transit) or Berlin (my final stop). I also don't know if my lack of return flight will be a problem, though I plan to start my visa process the day I land.
The length of time the visa process will take is getting under my skin. I know I can get a temporary/bridging visa and that this will help; but will I need an A1 certificate? Can I do it in Berlin (nowhere to sit it in Perth, WA)? Can I do it during the visa application process or do I need it before I start?
We really don't have any idea. We are doing this blind as it's really hard to find people who are sharing their story and it's a challenge when the EES is still so new. Many stories are people who are trying to stay in Germany on working visas. This could be because the visa is easy to get; or because too few people are getting this visa. So, hey, if anyone had any idea - let me know. I fly in 19 days. I cannot wait!
