I saw this today in Vancouver as I was walking home from a café.

Please please please understand this.

My past rent that I had with my boyfriend in Quebec never got leased since we moved and somewhat, they increased the price TWICE! Quebec is a bit different from the rest of the country as the people are not moving away because of its price (like Toronto or Vancouver), so even though we talk about a housing crisis, the landlords keep increasing the rent's price every year because it is still cheaper than the country's average.

Canada is actually building a lot of rent, but only a handful of them are actual social/affordable housing. Most of what's being built are luxury housing, and those are unaffordable for most of us. Every building around mine and including mine have empty appartments. There's supply everywhere, we just can't afford them

Job and Rental

Shit has been rough recently. We just found a place after having been refused from everywhere else, and I am still in the lookout for a job. I did an interview that went well last week, but I will only get an answer in 2 weeks. Mostly every other place don't even reply, and the rare that do don't even bother giving an interview. The job market is disgusting and the employer are abusive and way too selective. Entry positions, even retail minimum wage, requires experience. Mostly every job requires experience. Our generation is cooked, and the next one is doomed

Things started to feel better. The next coming months, even whole year is still gonna be difficult and uncertain, but at least there are objectives.

I will be coming back to Quebec in 2 weeks alone. Circuit and I will live separately because he has a place in his family in Ontario to help him, but it's his family, and I also wouldn't be able to find a job where he will be.

In the meantime, I'll be couch surfing at a friend's place until I find a job and then, maybe I'll find a place for myself or live with that friend until all our debts are paid and Circuit can move back with me again. I won't have my computer for quite a while, and I will be focusing my freetime on writing my book and my photography.

At some point, I'll have to choose what I want to do in life, and while I have ideas, I need time to choose.

Trying again as a flight attendant is definitely something I'd like.

But so is studying urban planning and transit system

Being a model? Interior designer? opening a business like a café mixed with something else like a thrift store or local products? All good ideas, and so little time for trial and error.

I'm also seriously considering doing all the steps to have an autism diagnosis. I'm growing tired of knowing what's going on and how it constantly affects me, but not being able to just say it to people without them downplaying what I feel.

On a more positive note, I think I'm over grieving my failure of these past months.

Canada and its limited train expansion due to CN and CPKC

Alto just announced that the high speed train will very unlikely reach the Gare du Palais in downtown Quebec city, and one of its reason is the CN train system that owns the railways. It is also likely the CN train system is the reason Ottawa and Toronto might face the same issue. Other important reasons are also at play. In Canada, the industrial train companies like CN and CPKC have priorities over Canada's already thin railway system, and often have precedents over transit system and even VIARAIL. This often impedes large scale development of our transit systems

In Toronto, the expansion and frequencies of its GO train is impeded by the priority that CN holds over rails existing in the GTA. In Vancouver, the West Coast Express only operates toward downtown during the morning and to the suburbs during afternoon rush hour because the CPKC owns the rails.

VIARAIL trains often have to wait aside for a CN trains to pass for the same reason. CN also imposed a speed restriction on their recent trains for security reason. If we want better transit system in Canada, the lack of available rails owned by VIARAIL and transit system needs to be addressed.

I can't figure out if I truly wanna stay in Vancouver or not. It was my dream to move to the PNW, to be close to some friends, to explore, but I do miss "home".

Maybe things would be easier if I had friends in the city itself. It's getting lonely and I have to cross the border to see the closest friends

Dynamic pricing sucks and it's another one of those tactics to make us pay as much as they can for food. Big chain Canadian grocery retailers all constantly use predatory tactics to gouge their price and abuse the system.

I used to be able to looK at the old price. Not anymore with those. I can't compare. This is not okay

In my entire life, I've only seen 2 people crying after/during an exam. Once in highschool during a difficult math exam, and this last Friday at my training group after our first exam.

Our whole class is doing its best to take this seriously, and each failure is truly felt. Our instructors were right. It's not an easy program

The laundromat job didn't last as I got an offer to a better place 2 weeks ago lol. But now that I am back in the wage cage, I'm thinking of what to do with my life. I wanna be a flight attendant but the process is ass and since I got a rejection email from Air Canada Rouge, I cannot apply there again for 6 months. This is a lot of time waiting for nothing. Should I go back to school? Be one of those finance or banking adult who only works there for a paycheck? I can't even afford to go back to school actually. Gotta pay the debts first
