on the other hand this goes to show how symbol meanings can change over time, and how pre-existing aesthetic elements can determine the course those changes take- and in the same way that the chaos star had fascist aesthetic elements already present, which doomed it from it’s very inception to be claimed by fascists, the iron front symbol had a far-leftist aesthetic which destined it to outgrow it’s democratic socialist roots and become what it is today.
