This started as a different project that then took a different direction. But I was fond of the lettering I'd made, so I came up with a border to match the gothic vibe, and surrounded it with bats.

A small pattern based on a conversation that happened on Pixel Stitch.

Three colours, about 7x7 cm. if stitched on 14 count Aida. I haven’t yet gotten around stitching it myself.

Itsy Bitsy Vroom

A quick, tiny, unplanned one!

This one started its life as pixel art for a Bitsy game I created to celebrate friend’s wedding we could not attend. 

I liked it so much I decided to stitch it! I tried to fiddle with it a little to “improve” it, cross stitch gives you more options than pixel art like half stitches and back stitch, but in the end I think it works because it's a bit abstract and adding some details makes it more apparent that other details are missing. So I kept my stitches the same as the pixels. 

After stitching it, I turned it into a tiny patch: I ironed some interfacing on the back, then since I did not have any stabilizer on hand, I pinned it on a coffee filter and used the buttonhole setting on my sewing machine to stitch a border on it. It’s not perfect, and it started getting messy when I tried to do a second round, but it’s good enough. 

Here’s the pattern, it’s small enough that it doesn’t need a pdf, but if you’d prefer it as a pdf let me know!
