I still carry him with me
I think Enyo is dying. Took off work again today so that he can spend it sleeping on my chest.
It's not much, but I bought a little birdbath, scavenged some patio stones, and relocated some plants to make a memorial for Enyo. I'll spruce it up and even it out after the rain dries up.
This is the last video I ever took of Enyo. I can't overstate how much we loved each other.
I love your cockatiel tattoo <3
Thank you! So do I. It's been a really wonderful way to keep my buddy Enyo's memory close and share my love of him with other people.
Also I get to say funny things now like "I have to put sunscreen on Enyo" and "Enyo is getting my vaccine for me" and "put the electrodes on my other arm, I don't want to electrocute Enyo."
to be a little creature with a short life is big and scary, but to have a larger creature that will walk each step with them makes it easier. Enyo is not thinking about the millet yesterday. he is thinking how lucky he is that you stayed home today, how happy he is that for this next big step in his journey, his friend is there with him. my heart goes out to you.
Thank you, anon.
His disabled foot has regained a lot of its strength lately but he still prefers a flat perch.
Last year I lost a bird I had taken in for hospice care and it still hurts me so much a year later even though I had expected it. I'm so sorry and please know my thoughts are with you and Enyo
He's had a great life but I thought we'd have a few more years together.
It's nice to feel like the folks on Tumblr are here with us while we are saying goodbye to one another. Thank you.
